Hello Everyone,
I am recovering from my recent injury and able to sit at my computer again for more than 5 minutes at a time.
For my part I have missed these forums and I am happy to be back again.
I am halfway through reviews of: Memory Lane, No Man's Land, Year of the Pig and Return of the Daleks and hope to have them posted within a week.
In the meantime seasons greetings to all!
Bob (Bad Wolf) |

| Welcome back Bob, just in time for The Runaway Bride! |
|
P.S. It is of course possible that this message is a trap. If it is I can deal with it. P.P.S. I'm leaving this note in case I can't!

Yes we did miss you, Bob! Glad to have you back! I know you emailed me as well, I haven't had a chance to reply yet... (sorry... making too much merriment with the holidays I suppose).
Glad you are healing and you are able to sit at the computer (albeit for only short amounts of time for the time being).
Cheers,
Louis

For the record - what was your injury, if you're happy to share it? |

I can share my injury if you wish......... I would be happy for someone else to share the pain
But to get serious for the moment.......... I suffered (and believe me suffered is the correct term) a twisted spine.
Because this was a work related injury I had to endure the American Workman's Comp system for treatment.
Ordinarily I would have gone to see a chiropractor but because of this I did not get a choice but they have paid all of the medical bills.
The injury caused two discs in my lower back to become swollen, which in turn pressured the sciatic nerve.
Sorry to have taken so long to answer your question but I have been trying to catch up on the Big Finish reviews and missed your post.

Thank you for your kind thoughts.
It took from the start of November until a week ago to get spinal injections and they seem to have taken a week to work.
I am now largely out of pain and the pain that is left is pretty small in comparison to what is was.

Hey, don't sweat it, my friend. You're not the only one who's been out-of-pocket around here lately. I just returned myself after being away for a bit. Lots of drama to deal with over the past several months. But nothing like new Who gets me itching to converse with the great minds found here on the forum boards.
Good to have you back - and to be back as well! |

Well I am sorry to say that I missed your absence because I think I was absent longer.
So when I stopped being able to visit the site you were posting and when I came back you were still posting.
I get the impression that your problems were more emotional than physical.
Whatever the case welcome back, it seems that we can't lose the habit which is a fantastic tribute to the community here and to the lads that host it all.
Happy New Year to you and everyone else that makes up this crazy Doctor Who community |

Welcome back to the both of you.
I've hardly been here much myself recently as my son was home for the holidays and took up residence on my computer - reluctantly allowing me the odd ten minutes to check my emails :-)

Bob,
Your four new reviews on Big Finish audio dramas are now available on the web site. I never made here back to the site last night (I zonked out in the wee hours before I could make it back here)... So they are now available in the DW Reviews Topic as well as the front page. Thanks again.
Cheers,

Thank you Sir,
Don't get used to getting too much sleep!
I have tripped over three new Doctor Who audio books; The art of destruction, The nightmare of Black Island and The price of paradise.
I grabbed them from Audible and they are currently nestled on my Ipod (I know that you must be thinking that I am the only person in the world with a terrabyte Ipod.)
Last time I reviewed these as they were released (a trio) but I think that this time I would like to hear from the forums as to whether they are happy with that format or would like each story reviewed individually.
So I will start a quick thread entitled "A question for the forum" and see what they prefer.
Probably making a rod for my own back
