EDIT- changed the title of this thread - better for any future updates.
Well it's been a while since I made a fool of myself - well, on purpose I mean
You my have seen my uStream post:-
Thread title:- Want a laugh at my expense? - daveac
Well undaunted I've now joined blip.tv
here
I joined after watching TDury's (very good) 'Who at the Cavern' vblog (part1)
EDIT - I think this video has been posted on the site in the past - otherwise I would have given it a thread of it's own)
here
So here's my test video - and Louis & Ken - I'm wearing my PodShock T-Shirt so I expect you two at least to watch
There doesn't seem to be a way to embed these videos.
EDIT - Taras has sorted that out - see below. The 'front picture' is just the blown-up avatar from the site - the video quality is much better than that image. Again thanks Taras :-)

A little digging found the embed code....
Taras |
|
Well done Taras:-
I checked the 'source code' for my page but couldn't find 'embed src=' in there.
Could you see if you could do the same with my video here please?
EDIT - Done Already thanks.
The pixel image shown is just the 'blown up avatar folks - the video quality is fine.
Cheers, daveac

The second of the four icons on the lower right of the video is EMAIL or EMBED... I'm just good at poking around. |

Thanks again Taras.
As people who saw this thread early on notice - I've replaced the tiny 'icon' that I'd put on the blip.tv site - I didn't realise it would be used at the 'start' of any clip.
Since I was altering it I decided to add some text and even number it as a 'vblog' - how many more I'll do I don't know.
Cheers, daveac

Looks good Dave.
I just tweetered about it, so perhaps you will get more views.
Not bad for a test video. If you were to use the same gear again in the same position and same time of day, I would just work on the fill light you need on your face. Even a reflective white board off camera on reflecting back on the shadow side of your face should help.
I haven't tried Blip.tv, but I do have accounts on Ustream and Seesmic, though currently with no content there. I thought I would be using them while on tour... Once I prepare a better set up here, I may start using these video services on a more regular basis.
Being that you shot this with the video function of your still digital camera using the built in mic, I am quite surprised how well it did indeed turn out.
By the way, most newly released video games on the modern video game consoles here in the states start at around $60 (US), but I do agree that the Blu-ray discs in the UK seem overpriced. Also, I feel 42" LCD HDTV is a good size. It all varies depending on various factors involved in the viewing experience. Watching a material on a 42" screen from 5 to 8 or 9 feet away from the screen should be fine.
Cheers,

I like the video montage intro they put together for Who at the Cavern 3. Kudos to whomever put that piece together.

| The clips were filmed by Tim (Paul Wilson's mate). After the event Colin, James, myself, Paul and Tim had dinner and a couple of drinks with a few other people. Didn't realize he had recorded so much of the event though. |

Thanks Louis
Yes - something strange happenned - the Sun came out just as I started
The quality seems good enough I think - especially if I can do it like that again 'in one take' so I don't have to edit and recode etc.
The camera video comes out as .avi ( which was 99Mbs in size) which when uploaded - blip turns into a .flv movie (which seems to be about 33Mbs in size)
I'll at least try a couple more.
Cheers, daveac

Hi Dave,
Enjoyed the vblogcast. Watched/listened to it as I marked out my Dalek neck rings. BTW I suspect that your TV screen refreshes at 120Hz (120 times a second) not 120MHz (120 million times a second) Sorry thats the electrical engineer in me coming out.

I was going to point that out too. It's cute and funny at the same time.
Come on Dave, you did that deliberately, didn't you?

Never mind the arrow - just noticed I end the video almost drooling - it must be me mentioning Peri near the start that did it.
