I don't think he had a 'best' season - there were strong and weak stories in each.
Of course with Ace coming on board in Dragonfire things got better.
The Doctor & Ace were a very good pairing - and it's a pity they didn't get better stories to do.
Cheers, daveac

Funny you should ask that as I have just been on a McCoy era re-watch as of late.
That's tough for the same reason as Dave stated. His seasons were peppered with decent stories and not-so-decent stories.
I think my favorite would have to have been season 26. I think it had some of the most interesting stories. Not to mention that I think Sylvester McCoy had finally found his footing in the role, too bad it had to be his final season as well. I think the stories were getting ready to take the Doctor in a darker direction than in previous years.

| "Like" is a very strong word to use when assessing the McCoy era. |

Im in the process of watching the 7th Doctor era for the first time and Im just getting ready to view the 26th season. So far Ive liked "Paradise Towers" and "DragonFire" - the Dalek and Cybermen stories were okay. But I think "Delta and the Bannerman" is the worst ever story with "Greatest Show in the Galaxy" a close second.
Everyone Ive talked to says that the 26th season is the 7th Doctors stringest - so Im looking forwrd to a strong finish. --Billy |
