As the 8th Doctor adventures on BBC7 are being presented as a broadcast season, fitting neatly between the end of Torchwood and the beginning of televised Doctor Who series 3, might I suggest that they be given the same poll consideration that we've done for all new broadcast episodes in the Who family of programs? I'd personally like to have the same kinda snapshot view of fan opinion that we've gotten for Torchwood and televised Doctor Who.
While we're at it, I kinda think they're deserving of their own section on the forum, cause they exhibit all the same properties of the subjects of all the other sections, except that it's radio rather than TV.
Might be a past Doctor, but it's new Who in regular broadcast . . . |

Great suggestion Darth, but wouldn't discussions on it fit into the Paul McGann era forum topic? I think it would cover all his adventures (not just TVM), including the broadcast radio shows, Big Finish Productions, etc.
I was at the BBC 7 radio web site sometime over the weekend, but didn't find too much info on the series... perhaps I was just looking in the wrong place. Do you have a run down on what they are broadcasting?
Oh yeah, a poll on the stories wouldn't be a problem
Cheers,

| Here's the list of episodes from the BBC website. And here's the schedule from BBC7 which takes you directly into the player with the right episode. All you have to do is find "Doctor Who" or "Beyond the Vortex" (the equivalent of Doctor Who Confidential), click on it, and it'll play the latest episode of each for the seven days following the initial Sunday broadcast. |

| Yeah, what was I thinking? We put discussion of the new series of televised DW under the David Tennant Era, so discussions of this surely would belong in the Paul McGann era. Ahh well, I was mainly just plumping for a little nifty sidebar action on the home page.
As for the information that's sorta missing from the website (and I'll grant ya, DW is kinda lost in the sea of other productions there), here's the rundown so far:
First up, as has been rather well publicized, there's a brand new companion, who showed up in a very (some might say, too) Donna-esque way, in the same week as the "The Runaway Bride". The Doctor was not, at the time, travelling with anyone, nor was there an indication of how long he'd been alone. So it's an entirely Big Finish continuity-free place to begin listening to the Eighth Doctor. That's somewhat of a relief as the continuity was getting a bit thick in the unbroadcast adventures.
Second, the episode length now approximates that of the new series. So these are one and two-parters of around an hour.
Third, they're free and legal for everyone in the world, at least for the week following initial broadcast on Sunday nights, 1800 GMT. That makes this the only part of the Who family available worldwide to everyone at the same time.
Fourth, if you happen to miss the episodes on broadcast, they are almost immediately available on CD at a much lower cost than the normal Big Finish release (course, they're also way shorter).
And finally, they're accompanied by a thing called "Beyond the Vortex", Big Finish's equivalent of Doctor Who Confidential.
All in all, they mark a decidedly different direction from Big Finish, which is now trying to remake the McGann era over along the lines of the new series. No, we're not quite at the point where they're sticking the Murray Gold soundtrack onto the beginning of the episodes, but it's been rumored in some places that they're going to be allowed to get a bit closer to the Time War/Ninth Doctor with this season. I don't know how much stock I'd put in that, but it's at least true to say we're closer to the Ninth Doctor in style. |

| I wonder, Louis, if we might not want to put that direct link to the weekly episodes right on the front page of this website, so that people can easily find the latest episode? Again, this is a unique opportunity for all of us to share in a new episode of Doctor Who simultaneously. |

I am sorry, I have fallen behind in all this... sigh. I will add it to the events listing, and see what else can be done.
Darth, you are welcome to do a piece (or a series of segments) on the radio series for our podcast if you like, that would be fantastic as we have dropped the ball on it ourselves.
Thanks.
Cheers,
Louis |

Oops! My oversight. I was using this article as a guide for past episodes when creating the polls for the previously broadcast stories, but it was only listing "upcoming" stories (at that time)... and I completely forgot about Blood of the Daleks. So I will have to add that poll. Thanks for the heads-up on it.
