Is it my imagination or has the site had a slight makeover.
Either the red wine I'm drinking -is stronger than usual or the site has changed.

Yes, I have been doing some maintenance and updates today behind the scenes. I have been meaning to do it for some time now, but I needed several hours to put aside to do it...
The main engine, if you will, has been updated to the latest version. Next on my list is updating the Forum software and Media Gallery software... Then perhaps installing some new features. But one step at a time.
Currently, I am trying to smooth out some of bumps with the major update that I did this afternoon (well, it is now evening here)... The site was down momentarily as well earlier today, though I tried to minimize that down time as much as possible.
There may be a few more hiccups as I perform other updates.
But in the end, it should be worth it as we will have some improved features, a new feature or two as well, and have a more secure site.
The biggest immediate difference right now can seen with the top menu links. Those will probably be tweaked as well when I can get to them. Some of the coding has changed so some of the 'spit and polish' changes I had made in the past, didn't translate as well with the newer code... Anyway, it will be all sorted out.
Cheers,

Any chance of having a per user timezone setting. So as not to keep having to guess how long ago posts were made.
Failing that maybe a clock display for the Gallifreyan Embassy timezone... |

I am advocating for this option for a future version as well. Right now all the times are set to Central Time in the US because that is where the actual server is located, even though we are actually coming out of New York which is in the Eastern Time Zone in the US (one hour difference). There is a hack to change the displayed time to one particular time zone regardless of the server clock... I tried the hack and it resulted in all the dates being screwed up... so I reverted back.
At this time, there is not a way to make the displayed to be translated to the user time zone. Hopefully there will be some time soon.

| How funny. I just assumed that the site already had figured out the right time zone, as the clock is always perfectly correct, living in the central time zone, as I do.... |

Hah! I was going to end my previous post with that... but I was somehow distracted (happens a great deal when I post messages here while at work) and never did.
Thanks.
