A new SF show starts in the UK soon - Saturday 10th Feb called 'Primeval'
Does this sound familiar?
'The gang investigates the rips in space and time - or "anomalies", as they are termed - and attempt to contain the damage being waged by the barrage of prehistoric creatures travelling through them.'

So, you would switch from Doctor Who to Primeval? If I'm not mistaken, the plan was to have it compete directly, i.e. the same time slot.
A dual tuner TiVo solves that problem!

Yep, I was watching sleestaks even before the good Doctor... But then again, I didn't have a choice as prior to the late 70's there was no way to see the Doctor here in our area.

For our friends in the UK, or those who may not have been kids in the mid 70's, here's a quick video primer on The Land of the Lost. Lookin' back on it, I think it was my love of this show which kinda eased me in to Doctor Who. Evem though they're clearly laughable now, Sleestaks scared the hell outta me as a kid. And I still have to think of my reaction to Sleestaks when I try to imagine the effect of a Dalek or a Cyberman on kids. Aside from maybe Darth Vader, I don't think any character really got to that primal fear as a Sleestak. Well, maybe those mean old Fembots that were trying to KILL OSCAR GOLDMAN . . .
