Thanks for that Mike.
But its funny where posts lead you.
After downloading the Testcard I looked around the BBC Classic site
here
Noticed the 'Tripods' section
here
Went and looked at the picture section and found a lovely Tripods Wallpaper
Here's the smallest version 640x480:-

EDIT - I think Ken would like this.

No probs Dave,
And we were doing so well in staying on topic with testcard F . Now you need to start a thread on "Tripods"
so we can get back to Testcard F... Oh I mean LOM S2 .

Back to LOM Series 2.
There is no episode 3 on BBC 1 (as already reported) because of Football.
It seems that BBC4 are going to show Episode 1 of SERIES 1 - in order not to get two episodes ahead (would have been Epi. 4 tonight) - and it would appear they think they should give late-comers to the series a chance to see the very first episode again.
Cheers, daveac
EDIT:-
Just looked again :-
here
And I'm sure that's different.
It looks like they are showing Episode 1 Series 2
They have either updated this or I miss read it.

How nice of BBC4. They seem (IMO) to be falling into the US TV act of showing a few episodes and then taking a week (or five) off. I know, I know: it's only one week, but mid-season breaks are a pet peeve of mine (right after 20 minutes of commercial breaks during an hour program).
by the way: how many episodes are there in the second series? has that been announced? |

See my corrected post above.
As to the number of episodes I think it's 8 again.

I have a Youtube habit and I lack a TV.
However, when I was a kid in the 70's we had kids programmes that were a delightful mix of comfort and simplicity.
One such was Camberwick Green. The start-up sequence was always the same, where the character to be followed was introduced via a musical box (stay with me):
Camberwick Green
In the typical BBC style they did a Life on Mars version:
Sam's Green
Just in case the non Brit contingent missed it...
(Brought tears to my eyes heh)

FYI...Life on Mars II starts tonight on BBC Canada.
It's in a 90 minute time slot so even though there will be ad breaks the show itself will be unedited.

wow. quick. jealous. All we can look forward to on BBCA is a hacked up version of Robin Hood starting this weekend (hacked up to make room for the ads) |

The new Robin Hood only runs about 45 minutes so it won't be that hacked up. It's the shows that run nearly a full hour without commercials (like Spooks and Life on Mars) that really run in to trouble.

yeah, I couldn't believe how much I missed from the first season of Spooks when I first saw it on A&E in the US (as MI-5). I since have seen it on DVD and there was A LOT of explanation that I missed. |

What's the story on Life on Mars? Three new eps and then a break or something?
When my wife and I were watching ep. 3, she asked if Liz White was pregnant. I hadn't heard anything, but she was wearing more loose fitting stuff. |

Just a bump. How many more to go now? Ep 6 last night some great comedy moments with Gene ranting. Really liked Ep 5 I thought it worked very well.
