If anyones interested, there's "An Hour With Jon Pertwee" interview on Radio 7 this Saturday (and of course on the media player for a week after that).
I never saw him speak at conventions so will definitely be listening. Sounds like his anecdotes will be fascinating, such as how he made history by beating his fag-master at school (whatever that means) and how being dead in WWII saved his life?!?!

| Absolutely Love the Day of The Triffids. One of my favourite books and set around where I live. Great! Is it a drama or a reading does anybody know? |

I've searched around but I can't find anymore info.
I'm hoping it's a dramatised story.

I believe that it is a reading of the novel by Roger may. Still, better than nothing. There was a great dramatisation a few years back. Did you hear that? |

Just listened to that myself. Really entertaining. What an incredible life he led, I can't believe how close he came to being killed (at least twice) in WWII. He actually woke up in a morgue at one point.
Topically with Louis and Ken's recent interview, he has one or two John Levene related anecdotes too. |

The Last Question
'An all knowing super-computer is asked the ultimate question.'
Henry Goodman reads Asimov's novel.
Next Friday at 6pm and midnight BBC 7 (UK digital radio) - or catch after that on the 'Listen Again' service on the web.

On BBC7, Monday 25th August, a 3 hour celebration of Blake's 7. Presumably available on the iPlayer for a week afterwards (it's radio which I believe is accessible worldwide).

Don't know if anyone's been listening to The Scarifyers but it's clearly aimed at Dr Who fans. Apart from the obvious casting, Detective Lionheart (Courtney) told a subordinate in the climax of the last episode "chap with the fangs, five rounds rapid"!
The episode also concluded with Lionheart recruiting Professor Dunning (Malloy) into a "new organisation for fighting threats to the Earth" which I'm assuming is U.N.I.T. (Torchwood having been started several decades earlier).
And if there was anymore doubt, it's made by Cosmic Hobo productions.
I thought it was a one off, but a second adventure is on the iPlayer this week so it's looking like a series. |
