11TH HOUR with Patrick Steward Views: 818
     Monday, April 14 2008 @ 07:29 PM EDT
This show is almost...just almost a UNIT-UNITless Doctor Who. Patrick Steward plays a government assigned investigator into scientific mysteries and problems. He's protected by a female body guard (played by an actress who is on an AMerican TV show now--maybe UGLY BETTY???). Anyway they are both very funny togethr but the show is not a comedy. Instead, Pat's character delves into places no one wants him to ..except the victims. There seem to be only four stories and done by a Doctor Who writer (STephen Gallagher maybe?). There are one or two subtle or not hints of DW. He has a superior named Alastair (who's not very nice) and in one scene when he wants to get called out of a boring meeting about money allotment he asks his bodyguard/friend to come in with a call. Well, the call is real this time...and he responds with a joke like, "Not the end of the world again..." Patrick is very much great in this and so is the entire cast of each story. Very gripping and very scary at times because it's so realistic. One story is difficult to watch as it deals with a disease...and lotsa vomit...Worth the time though

it's on dvd in UK and USA. It was on tv (maybe BBC?) in the UK and on BBC AMerica in AMerica. It deserved a longer life

oddly it was on ITV or ITV1 as its known these days.

the show was very shortlived and felt like a modern Doom Watch and was much better the the Doomwatch revival pilot that Channel 5 did.

its well worth seeing. and gives you a better feel for Stuart as an actor.

sorry our forum names are so similar.. and yet from 2 different sources...

Somewhere the tea is getting cold
