"Ashes to Ashes" is a sequel to the series "Life on Mars". The lead character was changed frm a male to a female and the primary storyline was set in the 1980's.
Just posted on the BBC site - as they have decided to put Ashes to Ashes on at the same time as Heroes.
So at 9pm on Monday 20th April there will be Heroes on BBC HD (which I can't record in HD so tend to watch) whilst also showing on BBC Two in SD (which I record) - and now Ashes to Ashes.
Surely they could have arranged that better - and why isn't Ashes to Ashes in HD anyway!

That's weird scheduling. You would think there would be some overlap (although Heroes has been dreadful until about 3 weeks ago in the US - not sure where the BBC is with their broadcasting schedule).
Something good on Monday's again then? Yay!!!!

As soon as the episode came on - it was like the show hadn't been away!
It was a very strong opening. It seems this series will be a lot darker from what we've seen so far, even in Life on Mars. Police corruption seems to be the main plotline. I think the change is tone is very welcome, seeing as the first episode of last series was a little slapstick to say the least!
Other than that, I thought that introducing someone who knows that Alex is in the wrong time, is very intresting.
Oh and I bet DaveAC will be delighted with the Hyde mention in this episode
The early ratings for this episode are 7 million - the highest in its time slot. So a decent start all round!

Yes - noticed that straight away.
One thing that puzzled me was that there was no mention about one of the characters who was shot in the last series (won't say which one) I thought fatally - but here alive and well and no 'glad to have you back on duty' line.
