Are all our American friends hung over from last weeks Thanksgiving? It seems very quiet here?
Hang on - I can hear some transadlantic mutterings going on - it that Podshock 60 being recorded?
Cheers, daveac |

It's hard enough to find a good football match, though MSG shows some Premiership matches, much less a cricket match.
Ken is probably happy with the Islanders 7-4 win tonight...

It's my fault... We recorded episode 60 mid-week (last week), and it was my hopes that it would go into post-production and get out before the end of the week (before the weekend). Unfortunately, I was not feeling like myself that week, and I had other tasks that demanded my attention that I couldn't put off.. and the podcast never was edited and finished... So now I am hoping to get it done and distributed this week (before the weekend)...
My apologies for the long delay. Ironically, or coincidentally, one of feedback questions for this episode was someone asking us if our outside lives ever interferes with making the podcast. How fitting it would be this podcast episode effected by something like this.
Watching sports? Ken, perhaps, but not I... (I don't know about James though, but I am pretty sure he was not watching NY hockey).
Cheers,
Louis |

Put your health first Louis - just had visions of you on the cyberwoman couch franticly editing Podshock before the last of your humanity is drained from you.....shudder!
As for sport I didn't realise it was ice hockey - I thought 'Big Rangers-Islanders game' was American Football'

It had been revealed somewhere that Ken shares my love of hockey... I forget whether it was in a thread here someplace or elsewhere... |

Yes, Ken does... I think we may have spoken about it on a podcast way back when. Whereas outside of the two NY teams, I would be hard pressed to name another.

TWO NY teams?!? As someone who spent the first 10 years of my life living in Buffalo, I have to remind you that NY is bigger than the actual city! Let us not forget the Buffalo Sabres please!
Although I don't personally follow hockey anymore, we moved to Florida when I was 10 and it's hard to ice skate down there because it keeps melting! |

Don't be so hard on Louis, as he admitted himself that he would not be able to name any other teams.
But then again, Florida has two NHL teams... right in your backyard! Go to see them play when the Sabres are down there. The Sabres are a top 5 team this year and fun to watch, if you don't mind seeing your favorite team (if you're not a Sabre fan) struggle to keep up with them.

Oh, I did not mean to 'dis' any other NY team... I honestly only thought there were two. Living where I do, all I have met in terms of fans are either Ranger or Islanders fans. My apologies, as I assumed those were the only NY teams. My assumption was that there are two leagues and each state can have one team in a given league... but obviously that is not the case or there are more than two leagues... or whatever. I don't follow it, and don't pretend to know to it. It's not an anti-hockey thing either, I don't follow any spectator sports. The only reason I may be able to name more baseball and (American) football teams is simply because these two sports get more media coverage.. so it hard to avoid getting information drilled in your head about them even if you don't follow them. I don't think I can name more than two basketball teams either (and one of them I don't even think is "real").
