Question on Electronic Flight Control TARDIS toy Views: 913
     Thursday, January 10 2008 @ 09:18 AM EST
My local Comic shop got one in, they have it priced at $49.99 which I'm sure I could get cheaper online, but I like the guy and he stocks the Doctor Who toys (which I try to support by buying) so I'm curious what anyone's opinion is on this?

I don't have a huge amount of room, so I have 1 RC Black Dalek, my Sonic Screwdriver and the 9th and 10th Doctor 5" action figures. (I also just got the 12" 10th Doctor because I just HAD to). Anyway, my plan is to collect all the Doctors as they are released, and right now the 2 I have are standing in front of the Talking TARDIS money bank, which isn't exactly to scale.

Is the Flight Control TARDIS worth the $49? I'd appreciate anyone's opinions on this or a review of the quality of this toy.

I love the fact that you can spin the Flight Control TARDIS on your finger. This plus the sound effects when picking up/setting down the toy along with the flashing lights make it a fun toy. Whether it is worth the 25% premium you are paying locally, only you can judge. I believe it is the same size as the money bank, only the doors open inwards!

The thing itself is excellent. It goes very well with the range. I could never rival Taras or Dave for photographic ability Dr Hoo, but it's in top right corner of my Character stuff and I'm well pleased with it.

Gotta be honest though, I'm surprised at the price. That seems high (at least compared to UK).

WhoNA has the Flight Control TARDIS with three figures for $39.95 so if this is just the TARDIS by itself, then the $49.99 price is a bit excessive. If they are buying these from the UK directly rather than from Underground Toys, that may explain the price, but does it justify it?
