    AG-13 Batteries Views: 1124

Since the Sonic Screwdriver, the Phone Flasher, and other of the new DOctor Who toys use the AG-13 laser pointer batteries, and people have been complaining about how difficult they are to find or expensive, I thought I'd point out my own source:

BudK Catalog is a web site that deals mostly in edged weapons, so it may not be of general interest to this group. I got hooked up with them because they had a 1:6 scale Katana set (which is visible in the TARDIS Rec Room in my "The Second Key" photo story), not because I buy a lot of weaponry.

    However, go here:

    http://budk.com/product.asp?pn=BK853

FIFTY of the AG-13 batteries for $9.00

I highly recommend buying a set of these and having them handy when 10th Planet ships out your stuff.

    Hope this helps.

    Sean.

Also known as LR44 and 357 batteries if I recall correctly.

Wow.. that is a good deal. Thanks for the link Sean.

When I got my Sonic Screwdriver, I went to Radio Shack and bought what they had labeled "No. 13" batteries that look like they were the right ones... I put them in my Sonic Screwdriver and they actually work. I assumed I had the right ones installed until I got to my new TARDIS Talking Money Bank which takes the same type batteries... The battery holder on the Bank revealed that the "No. 13" size batteries from Radio Shack were too small (width-wise)... but since they were the same height as the AG-13 batteries, they did work in the Sonic Screwdriver...

Anyway, I found the correct batteries in the form of a Rayovac brand battery (I don't have their number handy) but it indicated it replaces G13 batteries. So it looked like it was the right size and G13 seems fairly close to AG-13... so I bought them and they work and fit fine in both my Sonic Screwdriver and TARDIS Talking Money Bank.

    Cheers,
    Louis

I just placed an order of batteries from BudK... I hope these are the AG13 batteries because it does not indicate as such on their web page. They call them laser pointer batteries without any reference to size or letters and numbers.

I finally got the TARDIS phone flasher today, and I thought I had an extra set of AG13 batteries somewhere, but I couldn't find them, so I stole the batteries out of TARDIS money bank to use them in the new flasher. So I thought it would be wise to have a bulk load of these batteries on hand now.

    Cheers,
    Louis

    .
Yes. The "Laser Pointer" Batteries from BudK are the AG13s needed for all this Character Options stuff.
