| I want to buy some audiobooks from the BBC, but I heard somewhere that CDs from the UK might not play in the US? Can anyone tell me if this is true? I kind of don't believe it, but just to be sure I thought I'd check. |

I don't think you should have a problem. DVDs or VHS videos are another story...different Regions and PAL. But CDs should be OK! |

I cannot see any reason why they should fail to work.
DvD's are another matter because of the (silly) region coding.
Being English I buy cd's of all types from all over the world and especially BritainI have never had a problem of any kind. |

Yes, audio CDs are all the same format and play universally over the globe. I've been buying imported CDs from the UK since the late 80's... The format is exactly the same in the US and the UK and everywhere else.

I've bought and sold a fair few CD's to people over seas on eBay and never had any problems.
In fact, Ihave some big finish and BBC CD's on eBay at the moment and I'm happy to ship to the US. If you're interested you can find the auctions here

Play.com have quite a large selection of Doctor Who audio books, including the new BBC ones read by David Tennant and Big Finish audios.
Having head Abersoch's fantastic reviews of the Sarah Jane Smith series I may buy them from Play once I've shifted the other titles on eBay!
I'd love to collect them all but at the moment funds don't allow so I end up using the previous title to buy the next! I wish Big Finish would release a few MP3 CD's with sebveral adventures but I think I read on OG that their BBC licence doesn't allow them to do that. |

| Thanks. I just saw BBC7 will start rebroadcasting Doctor Who programming with The Eighth Doctor. I believe those are all Big Finnish titles: Storm Warning, Sword of Orion, The Stones of Venice, Invaders from Mars and The Chimes of Midnight. |

This seems as good a thread as any to "borrow" to ask this.
Is there anyone who has both the CD aubiobook and "dead tree" versions of The Stone Rose. If so, any idea what tracks correspond to which chapters? iTunes can join tracks pre-ripping, but I don't know what tracks to link together sanely. |

I believe the audio books are abridged so they won't truely marry up - there's a whole thread about it over at OG if you're a member? |
