I believe the references the feedbacker in episode 68 regarding Jack's TARDIS was referring to, can be found here.
It also has some idea of how long Jack's been around? |

Thanks... It seems to originate from a writer of the Radio Times. I will have to pay closer attention when I re-watch Torchwood for any coral growing in Jack's office.
Cheers,

Such a beautiful thing is always good that it is fascinating.
However, a good thing is beautiful always.

I'm sure I've read about a Tardis growing or something else "becoming" a Tardis in one of the many DW books (possible 7th Doctor? it escapes me).
though, I don't know if those books are canon according to the rules of Taras. He'll let us know, I'm sure |

For me, I always thought that the TARDIS is constructed more by the means of something similar to block transfer computations (i.e. Logopolis)... in a way perhaps similar to the holo-deck technology in Trek though more real... Hence the reason why the Doctor can simply 'delete' a room or sections of the TARDIS.
So if the TARDIS is "grown" -- I think it's more like mathematically 'growing' Mandelbrot set imagery more than 'organically' grown.

well that does sound more reasonable,
but you think thats what RTD means when hes using the word 'grown'?
and doesn't the doctor jettison rooms which is slightly different? |

I have no clue what RTD may have meant, but I need to justify it and make it make sense in my head before I can swallow it. Otherwise I regurgitate it out (which I had to do from time to time over the years in Doctor Who).
