It would appear that those of us living outside the UK have absolutely no access to the Sarah Jane Adventures website, unlike the Torchwood website where only video content was blocked.
Could someone in the UK comment on what we are missing? Should we be upset, or is there nothing of merit there?

Are you looking for spoilery info? Or non-spoilery? Someone posted some info on one of the other SJA threads, but I won't repeat it here in case you haven't seen the show yet.

(I'm also very annoyed about the entire SJA website being blocked. ) |

My kids and I watched the show on New Years Day, as we were staying with my parents in Scotland (Hey we also saw The Runaway Bride, CIN Concert, Christmas Confidential and four episodes of Torchwood in real time for once). So I am really looking for info on forthcoming episodes.

Ahh. Can't help you there. I know someone posted something about the website having info about the Doctor leaving stuff for SJ inside the new K-9.
I've been searching online for ways to get around the non-UK blocking, but so far I've had no luck.
/-edit-/
FYI...I did manage to read some of the stuff on the SJA site by switching to the "text only" mode. |

I suppose if you are determined enough, you could use a UK based web proxy server to view the site. Theoretically, you would be seen by the BBC server as a UK resident, since you will be using the proxy server's IP to access the site.
Still, I don't see how blocking the entire site is to any benefit... it's one thing to do what they did with the Torchwood site by excluding all the rich media to non-UK visitors. Perhaps they don't intend any overseas market at all for the Sarah Jane Adventures? I don't know.
Cheers,

Thanks for the heads up on that Merlin. Perhaps we need to take off the "(UK Only)" tag in our listing of the site in our Web Resources on this site.
Cheers,

Realizing the quality of the product they have in The Sarah Jane Adventures, they may be trying to widen interest in possible licencing to foreign markets. That would be my guess. Plus, unless you are actually providing audio or video download services of the product, it no longer makes sense restricting these types of sites, if it ever did. |

| One of the things that struck me about this site (and CBBCs wesbsite) was how difficult it was to find out exactly when SJA is/was repeated. It took me ages to find it. |

Thanks Taras.
Just caught the second part today and I quite enjoyed it.
The kids in it seem every good and the plots are strong enough for two-parters.
I will certainly keep watching.
Cheers, daveac
