It was a good story. Once again Graham Harper at the director's chair. Though in the end it fails due to time constraints. Dialogue and scenes seemed like it had to be abridged to fit into the 2 part format. This story would had done better as a 4 parter or at least a 3 parter format.
Characters had to reach conclusions far too soon and too soon to be believable.

A real tear jerker. The Graske gets the object of his desires. The Trickster gets tricked. The kids get to see an alternate timeline. And Sarah Jane Smith learns the true nature of her parents.

I don't know. I thought it was ok. It was basically Fathers's Day redone, though. To me the best part of the whole thing was the trailer for the next story with Sir Alistair.
One thing I forgot to mention... I don't remember which part it was in, but when Sarah Jane's dad was talking about parking the car he mentioned something about a horsebox and for a second I thought they were going to try including the Delgado incarnation of the Master somehow. |

And here I've been praising the two series so far, and then this story comes along.
I think it's well written and well acted, even with its flaws. But yes, it is a complete rehash of "Father's Day", and there's no need for any of the shows to be 'going back to the well', in such a manner. |
