I'll take away Paterson Joseph and add David Thewlis
In fact, I honestly would rather a female doctor than him.
I'm still scared because I simply know it's going to be him and that's what is upsetting me.
All rumours and talk is leading back to him, which is never a good sign. |

bye bye david :(

I thought that he did a fine job in Survivors. And I for one would enjoy the dynamic and the possibilities that a non-white Doctor could produce.
Anyway, I remember as a kid never wanting the existing Doctor to go and being determined not to like the new Doctor. But they always won me over within an episode or two.
Bring it on! |

It is weird to think that for the first time, the Doctor will be younger than I am.
I hope the female companion is at least a mid-30s woman.
I continue to hope for Gina Bellman, based on her many collaborations with Moffat. |

I don't know if I'm ready for Tennant to move on. Thankfully, we have another year yet to go, but it's bittersweet to know he's moving on and we now know his replacement.
I don't know anything about Matt Smith except for what I just read so I'll keep an open mind. |

I remember him in 'Ruby And the Smoke' with Billie Piper.
So he could pull it off - let's hope so.
Overall he doesn't seem like a bad choice.
Cheers, daveac

| | Ditto for me, and I think this is probably the best possible scenario. Choosing an established actor creates too many expectations, most of which would probably never come to fruition. I was critical of Catherine Tate coming on board last season, and was pleasantly proven wrong. I've never heard of this kid, so I have no expectations, and hope to be equally pleasantly surprised. |

| I wasn't too impressed in casting a 26 year old but after seeing the interviews with him, he seems a little bit daft! So i think he'll be good! I'm just hoping the younger-casting won't become a trend, with future Doctors. |
