I hope that's sarcasm! If not, then I have to say that I am quite shocked at this reaction. How can you judge somebody who hasn't acted one scene yet? It's as bad as saying that somebody is too old for the part!
I believe that Sean Connery was seen as too young for the Bond part but look at what he did!
You really need to relax and save your criticsim for when you actually have something to base it on. Let the guy have a go, then if you don't like him, fine - have your say then!
I would have to say that I would have to withdraw my participation from any site which endorse such negative pre-judgement! |

I concur. How can one conclude that Matt Smith is not suitable for the part without seeing him play the part. Steven Moffat did see many actors for the part, be he kept on going back to Smith. Obviously, he has seen something there with Smith for the role. From the little I have seen of him, although not acting as The Doctor, he seems to be interesting.
I may lean more one way or another after seeing more of him. As far as his past work, my exposure has been limited to short clips.
I am very interested and curious on what he will do with the part and what he will bring to it. Until he takes over, all I and everyone else outside of the production can do is wait. We still have a year. We will see more of him in that period. Let's give him a chance first.

| Forgive me if I'm being naive, but is this a joke or are you really being serious?
If you're joking, then ha ha.
If you're serious, then what actor in their right mind would want the part after the previous guy got booted before even appearing 1 second in the part? Furthermore, it'd make Who fans look obnoxious (and they'd probably be right), and it'd make Moffat look incompetant. |
