| Has anyone on the boards ever seen any of Pertwee's or Troughton's WORZEL GUMMAGE episodes? I have only seen pictures from it and heard of it from English friends. |

Growing up in Newfoundland, I recall Worzel Gummage, but not very strongly. I think it was when I was very very young, or I was about 10 and wasn't interested.
At that age, I was heavily into THunderbirds, but had never heard of Doctor Who.
But in a recent documentary on Pertwee, a clip of Gummage brought back strong memories of the character.

I recall watching Pertwee as Worzel which was being shown at a convention back in the 80's... I don't believe I saw the whole thing though... and only have a vague memory of it now.

| Worzel Gummage was staple viewing in the UK! I remember it well - my wife (when she was younger) used to get freaked out and remove his head! It's possible fait to say that he is equally as well known for being Worzel in the UK as he is for being the Doctor. |

Yeah, actually during the mid-80's it seemed like there was more press concerning Worzel in relationship to Jon Pertwee, than Doctor Who.
I say, I do miss Jon Pertwee... I don't think there will ever be convention guest like himself ever again.

I can remember the ABC (Australian version of BBC) showing this show many many many years ago.
Can't remember much about it , other than it was about a scarecrow.
Also had the actor who played 'Catweazle' in it , who was also in a Tom Baker story.

I remember watching Worzel every Sunday afternoon when I was young with Jon playing the lead and Una Stubbs playing Aunt Sally opposite him. If I remember correctly it was followed by "Just William" where Bonnie Langford played an even more annoying character than Melanie Bush, Violet Elizabeth Bott who's catch phrase was "I'll scream and scream, 'til I'm sick", or rather "I'll skweam and skweam, 'til I'm sick".
Funnily enough Catweazle sprung to my mind also at the mention of Worzel, but I didn't remember any crossover. However, after seeing Shenysys' comment I checked up on IMDB and sure enough Geoffrey Bayldon who was Catweazle played a Worzel character called "The crowman", but only in one episode - Good memory Shenysys!
