| Any long-time Region 1 owners of the Key to Time season slightly disappointed they've put so much energy and money into a re-release of this season? Will you enthusiastically shell out another $100 for this one, or do you wish we were getting something that's not made its way to DVD yet? |

It's not a re-release since there was never a R2 release to begin with. When Warner insisted on an R1 Tom baker box set the Restoration Team and the BBC were pretty clear in saying that they would want to do a full-featured release at some point in the future. At this point I don't think it's even been announced that this new Key to Time box will even come out in Region 1.
I can't really hold it against the RT and the BBC that they are putting together something that hasn't seen an R2 release before.

I hope they do release this version of this set.
I missed out on the first one and have not been able to find it.

Saw one the other day on the shelf in the DVD section of the Union Square Virgin Megastore... and it's on Amazon. Are you actually looking for it, or waiting for someone to get it for you? |

Looking for and not finding and then there's $100+ pricetag too.
Then there are not may places here to find it.
Best Buy doesn't carry it, Suncoast has since closed in my area. But I discovered Barnes and Noble have classic DW in there DVD section so it's a new outlet.

It's never gone out of print and has been easily available since the initial release, often for much less than the list price. Currently in the US Deep Discount DVD has it available for $65.39.

Although the RT have never made it any secret that the US KTT release was "unofficial" and that they'd eventually get round to a proper restoration job and a decent set of extras.
The rumour also is that "The Five Doctors" is going to get a 45th aniversary special edition. |
