Okay, most people seem to say or write that they found Andred to be a wet blanket but I didn't. I also do not find it strange that Leela feel for him: he's a Gallfrean if not a Time Lord and one of the only ones to fight physically. That said, perhaps she'd be more taken with one of the Outsiders or whatever they are called (called different things in DEADLY and in this).

Leela takes with Rodan outside and the outsiders treat them both...nicely really in the end, while humiliating Rodan in a way. Poor Rodan. Leela shines throughout though.

The Doctor isn't evil is he? The plan is partly told to Borusa in the lead lined room. But why? Wasn't the Doctor afraid the Vardans would read Borusa's mind anyway later on when the older man knew about the plan?

In any event, this script if not the finished product, tried to show that Time Lords don't relate to each other via their physicial age appearances, so that an old man might really be a young one as in Hartnell's Doctor is much much younger than David Tennant's! In that case, Gomer the man who looks so old is maybe in his third regeneration (in the script he was much older) than Kelner who might be in his fifth or tenth or whatever.

Anyway the whole plan comes together somewhat for the Doctor until Andred plots to kill him! It all makes sense there really and in some ways reminiscent of Watergate and the paranoia from the President.

Anyway this is a fast episode and furthers the story along as the Doctor exiles Time Lords that might fight back, weeding them out from the ones who will help the Vardans (although we only really see Kelner and one of his guards) and letting the ones outside gather with help from the Outlers or whatever they are called in this.

A good entertaining ep, again. IMO again.
