I know I posted this before a few months ago, but it seems appropriate while we're in an Earthshock frame of mind.

Still my favourite Adric moment ever... (but technically a spoiler, I guess, if you haven't seen the story and no nothing about Adric)"

As the poster describes it on youtube: "Peter Grimwade's original 71 edit of the end of episode four. It was judged by John Nathan Turner to be 'not the kind of strong emotion I was looking for' and Grimwade was ordered to change it."

    Man, do I hear ya.

I love "Earthshock". So much so I did a photo story sequel of sorts, if you'd like to read it:

    REDEMPTION

I don't buy ALL of the Doctor Who DVDs, just my favorite episodes, and "Earthshock" was one I snapped up immediately upon release.

    Sean.

One solid hope is worth a cartload of uncertainties.

So did I.... Thanks Sean, brilliant!

P.S. It is of course possible that this message is a trap. If it is I can deal with it. P.P.S. I'm leaving this note in case I can't!

Earthshcok is one Davsion's better stories.

But one thing is never explained. If the freighter time warped back 65 millon years while the soldiers and the crew were still on board...wouldn't they be stuck back 65 million years too when they got out in that escape pod?

I doubt it - such an impact would have thrown so much material into the atmosphere that all life on about 90 percent of the Earth would be destroyed.

Going down in pods they would most likely land in an area that would be totally destroyed a few hours later.

    Cheers, daveac

Yeah, Earthshock is a great story - and that's despite the fact the Cybermen wore silver moon boots! Evil

Any time I hear the term "moon boots" all I can think of is the Jon Pertwee autobiography, "Moon Boots and Dinner Suits." Smile
