Where is it? Can anyone help me? Thanks.
Speaking of this, has anyone noticed Matthew is more subdued around Fielding and Davison? He was much more animated and talkative around others without them (Keeper of Traken dvd).
While on it, this story used to be one of my favorites but notiing Fielding, Davison and Waterhouse's comments, they're right. The story sucks! |

There is one on Black Orchid (at least on the R1 release)... I can't recall now which menu screen off hand though. Either the main screen or one of the extras menu. You just have to do the usual going side to side on each button until you find it. Nothing spectacular though.
I didn't see any on Time-Flight.
Yeah, I think "Easter Eggs" are just kind of annoying. Not the content, but the fact that it is "hidden" and you have to go through various annoyances to find it. When DVDs actually list "Easter Eggs" on the back as part of the extras, it is no longer really serving its purpose as an "Easter Egg"... Content developers (early video game developers specifically) used them to slip things by without the publisher of the title knowing it. But if the publisher is actually advertising the fact today, it is all sort of silly now. They have outlived their usefulness.
I just want to get to the content on the disc quickly and easily these days. It's not too bad on Doctor Who titles, but some DVDs you have to punch in a sequence of numbers in the right menu screen while standing on your head and rubbing your belly.
Cheers,

I despise Easter Eggs on DVDs. I mean, I've already paid for the content, why do I have to search for it on the disk? When you buy a car with manual gears the salesman doesn't say "Well there are 4 gears and a hidden 5th gear that you can only access when turning left at 30mph". It's nonsense. Everything on the disk should be accessible from a menu. |

If you play the DVD on a computer with DVD capabilities - most easter eggs can be found by running the cursor over the screen.
The easter eggs will show up (if there are any) but you will have to check each menu because it may not be on the main menu.
The cursor is free to go over the screen and with the remote you only have the choices given by left, right, up, down and enter.
Try it with a DVD and you'll see how easy it is to find them that way.
However there are some that require activation at a certain set of times and can only be accessed during that time, so keep that in mind when looking.
PS: Easter eggs are little bonuses that they like to hide on the disks - if you didn't know. Usually it will be a little clip or a special surprise greeting meant to be a "gift" to anyone who's "geeky" enough to look. |
