I hated this when I saw it when I was 11 but... I was so wrong.

its practically steampunk.. sailing ships in space and Tegan actually being allowed to be great. what more do we need.

is is due for a dvd release?

Somewhere the tea is getting cold

Seeing as we've just had a Davison in the form of Black Orchid I think we might have to wait a while for another.
I hope that they release a Guardians boxset from this season featuring Mawdryn Undead, Terminus and Enlightenment.

And it had a great supporting cast I seem to remember. Didn't the lead singer of Imagination turn up in there somehow and didn't the Doctor's cricket ball somewhat implausibly save him from certain death?
    Great stuff!

ALL of Peter Davison's stories are IMO frustrating. They all hold so much hope and so much that is good and right with DW but they almost always go off the rail someplace and never to recover. Most have great ideas and set ups but most are truly dire to watch...still nothing as bad as TIME AND THE RANI, MINDWARP, PARADISE TOWERS (the three worst ever DW stories), TIMELASH (lamesh_t?), HAPPINESS PATROL, DRAGONFIRE, THE TWO DOCTORS, ATTACK OF THE CYBERMEN, and most of Colin's stories (not his fault but aside from MARK OF THE RANI and TWIN DILEMMA and maybe VERVOIRDS, there's so much wrong with ALL his stories--they are virtually unwatchable).

At least Davison's stories, once thought of as great in the 1980s---virtually everyone thought there was never a bad Davison story---hold some merit and are watchable...mostly...TIMEFLIGHT is pretty lame and part two of KING'S DEMONS is awful...Kamelion is a lame comp

Opps. Enlightenment: great idea, great execution, great script and performances but in the last ten min or so it sort of falls apart...and is so anti climatic. Then again, I think that Turlough was all wrong for this series as a regular character

That would be Four to Doomsday.

No but "Four To Doomsday" is. Later in the year sometime.
