"The Nightmare Fair" 6th Doctor audio Views: 1429

In case you haven't seen it on OG, the 2003 full-cast audio drama of 'The Nightmare Fair', written by Graham Williams for the abandoned season twenty-three is available free from www.shillpages.com/nightmarefair. Surely worth a listen.

For a *limited* time, if you right-click here and save linked file, you can download an iTunes optimised, iPod-friendly, bookmarkable single mp4 audio file of both episodes (94mb)! I'll host it as long as bandwidth allows. Confused

    Cheers
    Darren

P.S. It is of course possible that this message is a trap. If it is I can deal with it. P.P.S. I'm leaving this note in case I can't!

It's not bad. Nice that's available for download, which I did a few weeks ago.

You can definitely tell the difference between the new BFA's and an original 1986 script. The Sixth Doctor's conceit and sarcasm from the 80's is much more prevalent on this one than it is on the new BFA's.

They don't use the famous theme music and there's narration to break up certain scenes, which doesn't bother me much.

Nicola Bryant sounds like she was inebriated and stuffed up. It barely sounds like her in my opinion. Maybe she was nursing a cold when it was recorded and had taken some knock-out antihistamine or something.

Don't blame Nicola for someone else's voice... full cast doesn't mean the original intended TV cast...

I didn't realize they weren't the originals until I did a little online research. No wonder. Actually the chap immitating the Sixth Doctor is pretty believable.

See, that's weird. His "imitation" is one of the big reasons I've never made it through "TNF". It's rather one-note, to me—all the whiny exasperation of the sixth Doctor, none of the resonant charm.
