Since nobody has started a Podshock #64 thread let me start one with a question about this Competition.
Sorry James - but I'm not too clear about it yet.
Is this right - feel free to amend anyone (Louis in particular)
1) Competition winner announced in Podshock 70
2) Entry to be in before....(date?)....
3) Best wins Ipod and winner and best runners up get played on Podshock 70 with the winning one then being used as a Promo
4) Length of item - up to 90 secs?
5) Must include important info ie. Outpost Gallifrey, Gallifreyan Embassy etc ?? other info ??
6) Item made up of sound bites taken from earlier Podshocks.
7) Done with musical background
8) Entering competition means Podshock has right to use the material for promotion.
9) Make James look silly so he gets fired? No that can't be right Louis?
10)Making it entertaining - it has to snag it's audience in just over a minute and has to bare repeated listennings.
Right everyone - pick the bones out of that,
Cheers, daveac |

We mention it again in episode 65, hopefully it will be more clear there.
First off, it really isn't really a competition as much as it is merely an exhibition in which we will, give a gift of a appreciation to the creator of the promo we (all three of us) like the most.
Basically we interested in a mash-up or montage or something that would be great to use as a promo for the show.
Daveac, you pretty much got it close to the mark....
Promos should be roughly a minute long or less.
All submissions could be potentially used as a promo, but since the gift of a appreciation we have in mind is expensive we can only give it to one person.
They should be submitted by episode 70 (since we are sometimes delayed, there is no an exact date set now, though since we record the show ahead of time, we will announced which we liked the most on episode 71 (as we should be recording that as 70 goes out).
By submitting the promo you are allowing us to use it as a promo, here on our site, on other podcasts, etc.
Sound bites from past shows are fine.
Must contain the essential info (Doctor Who: Podshock, presented by Outpost Gallifrey, by the Gallifreyan Embassy, web addresses, etc.). You can take a listen to promo #2 (link on the right side bar of the front page on our site).
Thanks...
Cheers,
Louis

I already posted this as a comment in the article section concerning the promo exhibition... I will repost it to this thread as well:
Thanks to all that have submitted promos. They are all great. It is going to be tough choosing our favourites.
We understand we said we would choose one that the three of us (James, Ken, and myself) liked the best and show our appreciation with a special 'iGift' (you know what I am talkin' about) by episode 70 of our podcast. We are now well past episode 70 and so far this has not occurred. What happened? Simply, it just been about scheduling. We haven't been able to record a regular episode of our podcast (not the live DW review podcasts) with all three of us from beginning to end since prior to episode 70. So the next time all of us are together and we can review all the submissions... we will make the announcement in that episode. We will also begin airing the promos we received.
We are sorry for the delay. I just wanted to let everyone know that we
haven't forgotten your wonderful promo submissions.
Cheers,
Louis |

There isn't a new deadline... We are just waiting for James to finish up with his work and once we are back to recording regular "studio" shows again, we will select the one we all like the most at that point. Hopefully, that will be sooner rather than later.
