I am assuming they are using your IP address to determine your location... If you use a proxy IP address in the UK, it may work... Though I haven't tried it.

If the streaming is what's killing their bandwidth, why don't they just put it in a zip file and let folks download it and play it from their hard drive?

    Jeez...

By streaming, they do not distribute, but just broadcast. This way they can then sell it at a future date in another format (DVD? CD-ROM?).

Plus, they created this content for UK license payees. I can see how licensees would be a bit upset if non payers would get said content for free.

Well as a licensee I wouldn't be that upset because it's not actually that good - just mildly diverting for a few minutes. Once you've played through it the once there's little replay value.

    Aber.,

As a licensee, you should scream bloody murder that there is little replay value in AotG, and that they should force this kind of stuff on the American, Canadian, Australian, and New Zealand markets, while developing better content for the UK! Big Grin

So why not stream it to the UK and then hawk a zip file at a bean a copy to the rest of the world? They could make a few bucks and keep everyone happy at the same time.

I just think that they haven't had the time to even deal with the rights and techical issues to do this just yet...

But then again, many people outside the UK have already seen the Attack of the Graske already, so the genie (or djinn), so to speak, is out of the bottle.

I can just can see how someone who pays for this content can be upset that non-paying viewers are getting a free ride. i.e. "Why should I pay a license fee if Taras in the U.S. can get this for free. I'll just stop paying my fee!"

I live outside the UK and, obviously, would like to have the opportunity to be able to see such Doctor Who episodes. What'd I'd like to see is a way for US viewers to use iTunes. Possibly, with Doctor Who being picked up on the Sci-Fi network in March that this might happen.

Case in point: I taped the wrong time for Battlestar Galactica this past Friday night and my wife went upstairs, downloaded the episode on iTunes, and we watched it through our TV. No hassle.

Let's hope that the new Doctor Who will be part of iTunes' store. There's money to be made there.

I no it's not of any use to US DW fans - but as I mentioned in another topic, the BBC are introducing a 7 day back catalogue of programmes later this year so any programme can be be downloaded and watched up to a week after being aired.

So at least we UK fans can catch up on a show that we missed (even though they are repaeted a day or so after on another BBC channel!!!)

The Attack of the Graske now appears to be playable by those outside of the UK. I just played it and it ran okay from Austin, TX.

Was taking a look at the new Eye of the Tardis game, which is an okay Mario Bros rip-off.
