| Following the credits at the end of Part four of "The Keeper of Traken" there's a little two second bit with Anthony Ainley smiling and saying "Thanks Gov," and then walking away. I know it's a little tribute to his passing but needless to say it was a touching little unexpected addition. |

| I just picked up the New Beginnings set this week. So far I have only seen Traken and Logopolis, but I have noticed something really nice. The new supplemental material is produced in anamorphic 16:9 and looks gorgeous. These are the first DVDs that I have seen with the "2|entertain" animated production logo on them. Have any other recent DVDs had anamorphic 16:9 material on them? |

| Keeper of Traken is wonderful story. One of my fave Tom Baker episodes. The sets & costumes are beautiful. Its just a pity that they followed it with Logopolis a crap way of ending (the best) doctors stint. |

"Keeper of Traken" is one of the few instances that Doctor Who felt like Doctor Who in the JNT era. I'd go further and say it's one of the best classic Doctor Who stories of all time, and certainly one of the best not to feature a classic monster. It's just a shame that JNT wholly forgot about the promise of "Keeper" when continuing the, ahem, development of Nyssa in the rest of her stories. If only Nyssa had been allowed to have caused the regeneration of the Ainley version of the Master. That would've been awesome tribute to a fantastic story.
Everything, even Adric, is working in this story. |
