Anyone tried using the new 'ShoePhone' for Talkshoe yet?
Site info reads:-
'It's goShoePhone™ provides a one click option for voice participation using TalkShoe Live.
How does ShoePhone™ work?
• No phone required, use your computer with headphones and mic
• Software phone (VoIP) built directly into TalkShoe Live!™
• No need of entering IDs or PINs
• One click access to join a Talkcast
What do I need?
• High speed internet connection
• Headphones and Mic
• TalkShoe user account with ShoePhone activated
Pricing
• Free during Betaone from Alpha software to Beta:-'
You have to Signup - and it's not clear about what the costs will be later.
Since it was last week I had my first 'clear audio' call-in after about four weeks of 'interference' I'm not ready to try it yet.
EDIT - you will need to be using the newest version of TalkShoe Live to get this working.
Cheers, daveac

Yes, ShoePhone is in public beta. It seems more stable than Gizmo and is intregated into the chat client. Once you are in the Beta, there will be an aditional tab in the upper right hand corner of the client called ShoePhone. One click connect, it pulls show number from the client and your pin from your profile (no aditional dialing necessary). ShoePhone Public Beta signup.
Speaking of Gizmo, with the new version of TalkShoe you have to change a config option for dial tones to be recognized by TalkShoe. Under Options, advanced group change DTMF Tones to In-Band and it should work fine then.
**Edit- I see Dave has opened a thread for this, ah well always good to have data in more than one place . End Edit**

Just posted about that before I saw your reply!
The thing about signing up for ShoePhone (for me) is that I've JUST got Gizmo sorted and of course it's free.
With ShoePhone - which seems a much neater idea - how soon will it start charging?
Cost was why I switched to Gizmo from SkypeOut.

Sometime in August (estimated) TalkShoe will start charging a flat fee for all SIP calls (Skype and telephone calls will still be free (Apart from Long Distance charges of course)). So Gizmo and other SIP clients (Including TalkShoe) will have to pay TalkShoe to use their SIP bridge.
But for now it is always good to have a backup in case Gizmo or whatever you are using goes flaky (it deos happen sometimes).

Right - thanks for that Merlin.
Well I'll leave it this week as it's the 'End of Season' chat - but then I'll give it a go.
Cheers, daveac - got to rush - I've got to see a Doctor, a particular type of Doctor.....starts in 3 minutes!!!
