Cool. I wish we had an exact date... but at least we have a clue now.
Do we know how many episodes there will be yet? And if so, whether or not Invasion of the Bane will be part of that number or separate?
Cheers,

I believe that there are a total of ten episodes (five adventures). Invasion of the Bane was a Christmas special.
Invasion of the Bane will come to region 2 DVD on October 29th.
From OG's news pages :

Doctor Who Magazine has announced the writers for the first series of Sarah Jane Adventures. Adventures One and Four will be written by Gareth Roberts, Adventures Two and Five by Phil Ford, and Adventure Three by Phil Gladwin. While there is no script by Russell T Davies, he remains executive producer. |

Invasion of the Bane was a New Year Special. Pretty much celebrated as a separate holiday in the UK. |

It was refered to as a Christmas special by the BBC in the planning stages and was broadcast on New Year's Day. I am using the term Christmas special to refer to the special episode(s) of a series aired during the holiday season, whether on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day or in between, or thereabouts.

| I'm really glad this is finally due. I personally wasn't totally taken with the Invasion Of The Bane episode, but to me she'll always be the number 1 companion. Pleased. |

| I was thinking about the SJA series recently, and I was thinking that they had better not wait too long. The two main child characters looked to be right in that age where they will be growing/aging really quickly. In the holiday special they were cute young kids (think Fred Savage in early seasons of Wonder Years) , but by the time the show rolls around they could be awkward gangly teens (think Fred Savage in later seasons of Wonder Years). |
