What is it about this show? It must have been the netherworld of the 70s---like 1974, between UFO and SPACE: 1999 but before STAR MAIDENS.

Now, this show had Douglas Trumbull (I think that's the correct spelling) and Harlan Ellison involved as well as others of some fame in the sci fi circles.

The show has a great premise, a fairly good cast, good guest stars, and not so bad scripts. The effects are very poor, the sets worse, and the music okay. The model work of spaceships and stuff is pretty good.

No one should like this show...and yet...(sheepishly saying) I do. I don't know if has that DARK SHADOWS quality of trying so hard it makes it---but there's something otherworldly about this show that makes it watchable even when it shouldn't be. Mind you, I haven't seen all of them and only recently have I seen the first five eps...the rest are available from sellers on line. All of them in their true one hour form and not the silly movies that they patched together.

The worst one has them in a city long shot is a bunch of plastic toys sitting on a shelf while they hide behind some crates pretending to be in the city which supposed to be a real city. That was just awful...

and again, this show has something truly different, at least for that time and the heroes and heroine people ? It's truly bizzare to see it today.

I suppose I should try to tell what the show is about: a miles long space ark leaves Earth which is destroyed...and in each dome are people (I think). 500 years later (not that long is it?) the people have mostly forgotten their roots and some have mutated, some have degenerated, some have gone on to other things...and the ark is now on a collision coarse with a star. Keir Delleua (star of 2001) finds out some of this and leaves his farm zone dome...with a girl that was supposed to marry another man named Garth. Garth follows them to get her back...and the trio form a team eventually to try to save the ark. They wander from dome to dome to find info to do so. OH, and...uhm, in one dome they encounter a robot who can bleep out curse words. John Coclios from the original BATTLESTAR is in this, and in two eps as a villain is Walter Koenig. Barry Morse is also in another ("You're a woman!" he says to Rachel, as he's from a dome with an all male population...and he's a monk). Some have called this THE MOD SQUAD IN SPACE!
