TV Shows Now Available in iTunes 6 Views: 885
     Thursday, October 13 2005 @ 05:03 AM EDT
Apple just released iTunes 6 which offers the ability to purchase videos, such as music videos, movie shorts, and even TV shows.

The current offering of television shows available to purchase is limited to a handful of shows from ABC (in the US)... Shows such as Lost and Desperate Housewives...

Well... ABC is just one letter away from BBC Wink Comin' Beeb, get your stuff on iTunes! Especially that of a traveling Time Lord...

iTunes is offering these episodes for $1.99 each.. Commercial free. Plus, it is not only previous episodes, but new ones as well. The new episodes will be available via iTunes the day after it is broadcast.

The new series of Doctor Who is making its way on DVDs and mobile phones in the UK, as well as on UDM format for the PSP... It's not like the BBC are unwilling to try a new distribution avenues...

Well, we can only hope perhaps.

Another interesting thing I discovered is that one of the shows available now is The Night Stalker -- not the classic series with Darren McGavin, but a remake of it. Huh? I had no idea they were remaking the series (which originally dates back to 1972 and was the inspiration for shows such as X-Files).

I guess I will have to check it out... Though judging from the photo associated with the series, it looks a bit disappointing.

Scott from the forums here had once suggested that Sylvester McCoy would make a great Carl Kolchak character from The Night Stalker, and I would have to agree. I think Sylvester McCoy would be absolutely wonderful in the part.

Has anyone seen it (this new version)? Any thoughts?

    Cheers,
    Louis

Interesting news about iTunes6, don't think I am interested in any ABC shows tho Razz

It would be cool if Doctor Who was made available through iTunes, that I could get into.

Heard about the new Night Stalker but have not watched it. Somehow I think that any new version of that show would require them to pick a sexier lead Wink I don't think any new shows are being made without the obligatory eye candy and effort to bring in the young and shallow to the audience. Just the usual cynical me when it comes to network TV.

Just checked, show to be on ABC (which means pretty people only). And cast is listed as: Stuart Townsend: Carl Kolchak, Gabrielle Union: Perri Reed, Eric Jungmann: Jain McManus, Cotter Smith: Vincenzo Don't know any of those bodies even vaguely from anything, they are pretty tho (from the pic up on the page, traditional pretty but not very interesting looking). Show scheduled for Thursday nights at 9. Don't know if it has actually started yet. I don't usually watch much network tv any more, too much mindnumbing drek. And I don't see the point in watching this new one, old show is such a classic, so much fun. Somehow, I doubt ABC with attempt to recreate the flavor of the old show.
