For those of you who don't understand the reference I'm talking about Battlestar Galactica.
Wondered what your theories were on the identity of the twelfth and last cylon.
Love the fact that I haven't worked it out yet!
Well? |

Laura Roslin
"The dying leader will learn the secret of the opera house."
"Kara Thrace is the harbinger of our death."
Kara talked to Laura about what the hybrid said to her, due to that she went to confer with it.
I'm probably waaay off, it fits together. Laura's mortality connected to the Cylons discovery of their own mortality. She has had visions of the possible way to Earth. So has Kara but uhm...

The last of the final five, hmmmm.
The most likely candidates:
Gaius Baltar
Kara Thrace
Laura Roslin
I am leaning towards Baltar, as he was the main villain for much of the original series, and that in this reimagining, we see the Cylons having visions of other Cylons. We have seen Six, Tigh, and Baltar have these.
Roslin may be a red herring, as she was cured by Cylon antibodies.
Longshots:
Felix Gaeta
Karl C. 'Helo' Agathon
Anastasia Dualla
Of these I only think Gaeta is a possibility, but very unlikely. |

If Helo and Sharon's child was the first Human-Cylon hybrid then it has to be somebody who did not have children before that point. Would you agree?
If this is the case then it rules out Adama. What about Laura Roslyn? Do we know anything about her family before the attack on caprica? Did she have kids? |

I disagree, it was the fisrt KNOWN Human/Cylon hybrid, but what about Nicky Tyrol?
Which begs the next question, if the Sharon models can have children, and Galen Tyrol can have kids, then what's stopped the 7 models procreating? I'm sure the Sixes and Deannas have reproductive systems, and the male models too?
My money was SO MUCH on Adama, but then after Razor, i'm not so sure
So say we all? |

Yes a reasonable point but:
1) why make Sahron's child such a massive plot point - unless of course, the script writers changed their minds later about the uniqueness of Sharon's child
2) Wasn't the chief's child born a lot after Saron's while on New Caprica? |

My vote is for Laura Roslin as this would really put a twist on things. Not only are humans running for their lives, but their leader is a cylon. Wouldn't that shack things up a bit?
With how dark this last season is, I wouldn't be surprised if it were her.
Now here's a way out there thought. I was mowing the lawn today and as I am a writer, the following popped into my mind:
"What would you do if you were writing BSG? Who would be the last Cylon?" Then I realized that it didn't matter who the 12th was. I would have all the current "humans" be cylons.
Why? Wouldn't it be a shock to learn that all the people we thought were humans were actually Cylons and that they were simply running from a civil war. I'd have the "humans" be a new model of Cylons that were created by earlier versions of Cylons and a civil war broke out that wrecked the two societies, breaking them all apart.
Might be a bit extreme but why not make "Earth" a red herring and really simply be a myth and the humans realize they're just robots like the lower models. That would surely end things on a dark note.
But back to reality: I still think it's Laura Roslin as there's a lot the writers can do with this. We shall see. |

| I agree about Laura Roslin. How "convenient" was it that everyone in line for the presidency died in the attack on Caprica? How ironic that she appears to be dying of cancer? or that Adama is in love with her? It'd be way too obvious if Baltar or Starbuck was #12. All obvious signs point to them, so it must be coming from somewhere else. Do you think they'll ever explain how Starbuck returned to the fleet?? |

Did you say "74,384,338 to 1 against"? That's my lucky number!
