Halfway through it, I was twittering that at least there is no talking slabs... and then came the ending. A talking slab on rod is still a talking slab.
Alright, I've totally misapprehended you for, what, two years now, Louis. I thought your objection to the "talking slab" was the implied oral sex. Now it's a general aversion to talking slabs? Why? What have talking slabs ever done to you?

I mean they're more visually interesting than the immobile-faced Sea Devils in mesh dresses, surely. Or the Chumblies. Or the Monoids. Or the Sensorites. Or those fake "Americans" in "The Gunfighters". Or Ace.

I have different expectations for current modern Doctor Who than earlier ones. I was rolling eyes and being turned off by a talking walking Candyman and a flying bus in space in the late 80's during the early McCoy years as well. I was calling it rubbish then too. It's silly. It's one thing if the end product is silly looking only because of limitations of the budget, it's entirely different when the concept itself is just silly. Don't get me wrong, I love silly when that is the genre you are working in... I grew up watching Bugs Bunny.. It's fine in Monty Python and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Spaceballs.

No, I had no problems with the implications of oral sex with the slab in Love & Monsters... it was the concept of the slab itself in Doctor Who I found to be offensive. Oral sex... hey, bring it on! Nothing far fetched about that concept I can tell you.

    Cheers,
    Louis

She can't be the Doctor's Wife....

I have a theory that there is someone else who is The
Doctor's wife... but neither He nor she knows it but
everyone else seems to see it.

2 1/2 hours till we know the truth.

Donna Noble is the final Cylon!

The Doctor will bring Galactica to Earth. This will be his biggest mistake.

    Rose is Countess Iblis.

(Imagines a Steven Moffat version of Battlestar Galactica, and a Ron Moore version of Doctor Who. Scary images.)

Time will tell. It always does, except when it has Laryngitis.
