Here in the UK I caught part of an old Black & White film called 'Chance of a Lifetime' on Film 4 (movie channel)
IMDb
and was surprised and pleased when a young Patrick showned up in it playing a worker called 'Kettle'

Wow... He is looking so young there. 1950, I reckon he was 29 or 30 depending on when it was filmed. According to imdb, it was only his 8th project (counting both TV and film), his first being Hamlet playing Horatio on TV in 1947.
It's still hard to believe that it has been 21 years since we lost him. He was only barely 67 at the time.
Thanks for posting this Dave. I don't think I have seen much if any of his work prior to Doctor Who.
Cheers,

A pleasure.
Here's another close up:-

Also in the film were - Kenneth More

Hattie Jacques (of the Carry On Films - Ooooh Matron!) in a early serious role

Bernard Miles (British charactor actor)

And Niall MacGinnis - who played Dr Julian Kerswell (a Worlock) in the Dana Andrews film 'Night of the Demon' (1957) - a great early horror film:-

Night of the Demon info

They should do a marathon of early films of all the actors to have played The Doctor.
Call it I dunno The Doctor Is In...
