I'm confused?? Was the original set of this a limited edition?
Im in the UK but got the region 1 set a few years back as there was no sign of a UK release at the time.
So I'm just curious because I can't see anything on this saying limited edition |

The original R1 set was only limited in terms of being limited to R1 and having limited extras.
Re the topic...Region 1 means US and Canada too.

The Key to Time set released last year by 2-Entertain was limited to 15,000 (I'm number 1212). 2-Entertain have said they are going to re-issue it again minus the outer Key to Time packaging. |

So in fact this new edition will be a 'less than special' edition in fact?

| Now if they could just do something about the price. I'm sorry, but $100(USD) is way too much for 1 season of a TV show. I think for that amount of money, the BBC should have Tom Baker hand-deliver the box set to my house, and then hang out for a while and watch the episodes with me. |

In the UK I think it's £35 - $55?? (EDIT a few months ago that would equal $70 :-( ) and I'm thinking I'll wait 'til it drops below £30

There was a bare-bones R1 set of the Ket to Time released in 2002, I think. That 2002 set had very limited restoration.
This new set is a release of the newly restored set that was released in the UK last year.
Actually, I think the $99.98 price is very good. Considering that it includes 6 stories, which if sold separately at approximately $25 each, would be a lot more.
I bought the earlier set, but am looking forward to the new one. |

Individual copies are way overpriced, too. $25 for a 100 minute story? New series eps are $2 on iTunes (which is still overpriced, imho, but I don't want to hijack this thread and go there...) And ok: 2 new eps = 1 classic series 4 parter, so let's say $4. So I'm spending $21 extra for what? A DVD snapper case? A piece of paper with front/back cover art on it?
And studios wonder why red-eye flights are more popular than ever... |

By saying that, you did.
I would think the prices would be coming down with the dollar having a better exchange rate with the pound. Otherwise, I would agree that even $25 for one story is a bit overpriced, but I think the stories and the restoration work is worth it. |
