Just wondering if anyone has information on when, if or why not Blake's 7 is going to be released in Reg 1 format in the US.
As Travis always says, "WHERE IS BLAKE!!" |

Good question! BFS Video, the company that released them on (NTSC) VHS, said they would becoming out on DVD in the US (region 1) "soon" --- mind you that was back in circa 1998 and we are still waiting for their definition of the word "soon" - sigh.
Back then, it actually seemed like Blake's 7 was going to see life on region 1 DVDs before even Doctor Who. A decade later, we are still waiting.
Cheers,

But to better answer your question, they will most likely announce a Blake's 7 region 1 DVD release about a month after I break down and buy the region 2 PAL discs... unfortunately.

| I bought all four series a few years back and don't regret it. Right now each set is £16.98, on Amazon.uk, which works out to about $100 for all four series. I would suggest, if you have a dvd player capable of playing region 2, then just go ahead and buy the region 2 sets. I am buying more of those lately, especially Doctor Who. You will get an additional 96 lines of picture definition (625/576 - 525/480) as well, which helps a little bit on larger television screens. |
