Oh dear. Lots of TOY news in DWM and SFX this month! Views: 862

In DWM we can see the new TARDIS playset! Scaled to the 5" figures! Wow! No walls to speak of, but the central console is there, with the double-decked floor, and the TARDIS doors, complete with the coral-like superstructural beams. Each of the six panels of the console is supposed to have its own sound and lights, independently operated!

    Damn, it looks good!

Also pictured on the page is the 5" scale Cyberman (though it's taller than 5" for reasons that will be obvious)

And mention of the 12" Cyberman and 10th Doc.

Then in SFX Magazine they have a ForbiddenPlanet catalog showing a May release date for the 5" Cyberman, and an April release date for the 2.5" r/c K-9.

They are also showing a 5" R/C Dalek.

And Micro Action Talking Daleks. These are 2.5" tall Daleks with friction drive motors and each has 7 different sound clips.

    To quote the catalog:

"A terrific range of mini action Daleks which come with built-in talking feature. Each Dalek is modelled after a variation of the original Daleks and comes in 8 different styles for you to collect. Each is 2.5 inches tall and has a friction motor which allows the Dalek to move forward on most surfaces when released. And each Dalek is packed with a massive 7 phrases and sound effects from the show. Each comes packed in its own brightly colored box." - I didn't include the many typos in the catalog description including "massice" and "dalekk" - Coming in June.

Oh dear, it's going to be a good year for me...

Hasbro stopped making 12" GI Joes this past year, and that's what I mostly collected. So now my money's going to Character Options!

Does this mean we can expect a Dalek invasion story soon? Razz

I don't usually work in that scale, but with all the figures I'm getting soon, hopefully, I may make an exception.

I just received in the mail, my TARDIS Phone Flasher, finally. No, not from 10th Planet, where I originally ordered it back in October, and never received it... (I hope they didn't charge me for it) but from WhoNA. I broke down and ordered it on Friday, and it's here already!

With it I also ordered the Doctor Regeneration Set, two figures dressed in Eccleston's outfit - Eccleston and Tennant. I have to say their Tennant face is not the best resemblance. Still nice to have, though. I guess Eccleston figures will be fairly rare.

Now that I have these two Docs, and I have Rose/K9, Cassandra, another Tennant Doc, (with coat, I think) and the Moxx coming, I may be able to do a smaller scale story... the figures are about scaled to the TARDIS Coin Bank.
