I have no idea if this is true but the work news feed I receive daily said that Tom Baker's time providing the voice for the BT texting service is coming to an end and they are currently choosing another celebrity voice to provide the service. I haven't been able to find any news of this on either the BBC or BT websites.
I do remember reading somewhere that it was only for a matter of months but I wondered if they might extend it. If it's true, then make the most of Tom's voice while you can.

It hasn't even been a year yet... it's only been a few months I think. I am surprised it was for such as short period of time.

Wasn't it originally announced as a limited time thing? I don't know how the AFTRA union fees work in the UK, but over here, that would have been a pretty lucrative "voicecasting" contract that the artist gets residuals on based on how long it is "broadcast".

Don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but here's a great site that started recently from the BT voices Tom Baker did with BT.

The Doctor sings...
Here's a quick story that unfolded in the last 24 hours:
A friend of mine is a hardcore QUEEN fan (tho not even remotely into Doctor Who). So I sent him the link above, of which he sent to BrianMay.com!
Not only did the guitar player of the legendary Queen have it posted on his news page, he sent him this email:

Ah! - but the first Dr. Who was William Hartnell !
Interesting .... he doesn't really sing as such, does he ! More like a kind of Richard Burton on Help thing.... but I have to say -- a lot of work went into making the track ..... even to make a mediocre copy of Bo Rap takes a lot of time and effort ...and this is a pretty GOOD one ...
amazing ..

I only just heard his voice this week - my daughter was coming home for her driving lesson ( safer here than in the busy central Manchester (UK) traffic near the University - and she's sent a voice mail because of change of times.
I was so thrown hearing my daughter's message spoken by Tom I had to listen to it a second time to take it in!

| I work for BT and the Tom Baker voice is just for a limited period - they do it every-so-often. |
