I've been checking out the bbc site regularly to see when they update the doctor who site from "fear her" to army of ghosts.
When I checked back recently, they have updated it, and it now reads
"She's not rose tyler, not anymore"
does that imply that she gets dalek-ified or cyberman-ified to coin some new phrases ? if so, it could see her return in later episodes, or actually opens up her role even more, rather than close it.

Interesting.
I don't know really - at this point, RTD and Co. are probably going to keep everyone guessing. Billie has hinted that "the door would be left open" for possiblities of something more in the future, which of course contradicts the death prophecy by The Beast.
At this point, I'm just hoping against a knock-out ending capped with cop-out final twist. If she dies, let her go. Don't bring her back to live all happily ever after "until one day, we might meet again." The Rose character has presented the most complex dynamic of any companion in the history of the series, save for maybe SJ and Teagan, in some respects - her exit should be touchingly sad and powerfully strong all at once. For the Doctor to really 'lose her,' it would present some new layers to him as well in the wake of such tragedy. That fits best.
I still lay money on her somehow merging with the TARDIS for all time or something to that effect, as a Cyber/Dalek transformation just doesn't fit, and the seed was planted in "Parting of the Ways" for her to have a connection to the time vortex and all parts therein. She'll probably become one with the heart of the TARDIS, and somehow enable the Doctor to eliminate the poser Lumic-Cybers and the Daleks all at once. The sacrifice, of course, being that he'll never see her again, but that she'll still always be with him, and him with her.
It's a hunch, anyway. Nothing more, nothing less. |

I have to say that having Rose become one with the TARDIS is the most popular idea rattling around in my head as well.
Her connection with the TARDIS, essentially becoming the conduit for its wrath, certainly could have created a bond that would open the door for that possibility.
I can't wait to find out. |
