Hi all, enjoying listening to Podshock 51 - up to about 1hr 20mins to had to stop to post.
Louis makes a point - refering to Blake's 7 - about Zen being 'one of the seven' The point is in reference to whether the TARDIS is more than a machine.
Anyway - I don't think Zen (the ship's computer) or later with Slave (on the second ship) is one of the seven.
That part was taken by ORAC - the box like computer 'aquired' by Avon.
There are other Blake's seven fan's here - what do you think?

Gan killed early in Season B (replaced in the count by Orac; thereafter never more than five humans at one time)
Blake and Jenna lost at the end of Season B (replaced in the count by Dayna and Tarrant)
Zen destroyed and Cally killed at the end of Season C/start of Season D (replaced in the count by Slave and Soolin, respectively). |

Just finished listening to the 'cast. Loved the discussion on the TVM. I always liked it myself.
Regarding the question from the "newbie" about where to go for classic Doctor Who on DVD, never count out the possibility that your local public library has some. In the Chicagoland area for example, the online catalog for the Metropolitan Library System has...
The Mind Robber
Visitation
Horror of Fang Rock
The Green Death
Ghost Light
Pyramids of Mars
...and more.
If your local library doesn't seem to have them, see if you can do an interlibrary loan from another library to yours. Even better, request that your local library get them.
(ok...yes, I am a librarian...but I was using my public library long before I became a librarian)

| Another tip for users in the States who want to see some old Doctor Who episodes: Try Netflix. They actually have a good amount of DVDs that you can rent. I've gone through a good many of them and it's been great to see episodes that I haven't seen in a while, but wouldn't necessarily want to own (I know that sounds sacreligious, but with so many movies to see, there's only so much time). |

Wow... I have to say that we have been a bit overwhelmed with people leaving feedback recommending NetFlix after this podcast. If they weren't all coming from known listeners, I would begin to wonder if NetFlix were spamming us  . Actually it is a very good point. We will mention it in the next recording of the podcast (we are a bit behind right now).
Speaking of NetFlix, I have been considering taking up their service myself recently. Since I hardly watch anything on the premium channels these days provided by my satellite service. I may axe the premies and just keep the basic service and then rely on Netflix for catching just the movies I want to see. It will save me money since I am now paying for channels I hardly use now.
