Mark of the Rani DVD Views: 1113

This one is one of my favorites from the CB era. I was pleased to hear it will be out in the U.S.A. in November. That's two CB stories in one year with Revelation of the Daleks being the first.

Since everyone seems to dislike CB so much, I wonder why two of his stories are out in DVD within a few months when the last one came out in 2004. Are we seeing some sort of CB Renaissance or is it purely coincidental?

I still wish they'd put the Trial of a Timelord out as a box set.

At one time there was a Trial of a Timelord boxed set on VHS. I'm sure of it, because I can see it sitting on my shelf. You may be able to find some errant copies on E-Bay, if you aren't particular about waiting for the DVD set.

    In fact, here's a link.

And here's a set for sale from the UK, encapsulated for all time in a lovely tin container. (My copy only has the lousy paper box, but it has held up to repeated use since 1989, and I'm sure it was 1989 because I ran up a $1000 credit card bill buying a truckload of Doctor Who videos. My parent's were ticked, as I was still in college. Since then, I have learned that credit cards are not my friends and I'm now on the straight and narrow.)

I preordered this from Amazon. Oddly, this is (I think) the only original Doctor Who I have never seen. So it's a bit of gold for me. I can't wait for the DVD.

Yes I got my copy a couple days after it came out. For some reason I had a hard time finding it locally and usually a lot of stores have these DVD's on the first day. But I've already watched it twice. Once with the information text on and once with the commentary on. I really like this one.

Ironically I am not as enthusiastic about getting "Time and the Rani" if and when it comes out. Oh, I'll buy it for my collection but I'm not anxiously waiting for it.

I really like the information text on the Doctor DVDs - it's great.

    Good DVD too.
