Big Finish #86 - "The Reaping"

Wow. As opposed to the embarrassing "Red", this is perhaps one of the best Big Finish to date.

Peri gets to go back home to find that, like Rose, she has left a family in distress over her disappearance.

But this one is a great story of Cybermen who have discovered time travel and intend to build the Human Race up from scratch as a Cyber race.

If you liked "Spare Parts", I think this one blows it away.

Claudia Christian plays Peri's mom, and it's great to see their relationship develop over the couple of hours of this story.

This one's highly satisfying... Now I just can't wait for #87 - "The Gathering" - in which Tegan returns! And judging from the cast of characters, it's related to "The Reaping" with Peri.

One solid hope is worth a cartload of uncertainties.

Again, I haven't heard it myself.

For those interested, Badwolf recently reviewed it for us here.

I agree with what you have said Sean,

I thought that it is the best BF Cyberman story so far and one of their best Doctor Who story

I choose to be a litle conservative in my reviews because it can be easy to upset people but I (and wanted to write) that I thought the story better than spare parts but apart from knowing the high regard that Spare Parts was held in I also had to balance the fact that it was a split story with the Gathering and that could be crap (I don't think it will be) and wreck the good work that the Reaping had done.

My review of the Gathering will probably be a little late because as you will see from my comments BF decided to wait until halfway through the pair to let me know that my subscription had expired, so I am having to renew in the middle.

    Forget the shooty dog thing!
