I'm archaic. I don't have an I-POD. I have listened to the PODSHOCK in the past on the Windows Media Player but I can't seem to make it happen again. How do I listen to it that way now? Whenever I click on the mp3 link, all it does is link me to a page of codes.

    Hi Jeff,

Despite the name, you don't need an iPod to listen to Doctor Who: Podshock. The MP3 link on the front page (right side bar) is to the RSS feed. The best way to use the RSS feed is through a "podcast catcher" client... iTunes is the most popular these days, but there are other options. I used to recommend iPodderX, but it appears that it is recently going through a transition and will be renamed Transistr, but it has yet to be released. But perhaps you can still download the it's earlier incarnation, iPodderX (available for both Mac and Windows) somewhere. Or just use a different podcast client... See this listing for various podcast software clients on various platforms.

Then it is just a matter of adding the RSS feed address (see here for details) into your client. In your case, you will want to use the MP3 feed. The client will do the rest for you in regards of collecting each new episode.

Or you can also manually download the MP3 files from the episode postings here. If you are getting a "page of codes" as you put when you click on one of these links -- if this is the link you meant when stated as such in your message here, then for some reason your browser is not recognizing it as an MP3 file. I would suggest right-clicking the link and choosing "save as" to save the linked file (the MP3 file) to your computer manually, and use the Windows Media Player to play it.

Still the easiest and probably the simplest solution would be to just use iTunes instead. But you do have many options. You can even listen to them directly from our web site by going to the DW: Podshock topic and use the online player on our site.

I hope this helps a bit... if not, please let me know.

I use the utility called Juice and never seem to have any problems grabbing your PodCasts for my Windows XP machine.

    Give that a try.
