The BBC have confirmed there will be a series 2 of Torchwood.
Filming to start in Spring 2007.

Cheers, daveac
EDIT - On Digital Spy they are reporting that there is uncertainty in which channel will air Torchwood first BBC1, 2 or 3
here
If it was Family viewing I'd say 1 to altenate with Dr Who - but since it's not then BBC 2.
Cheers again, daveac |

| Isn't it interesting that those figures quoted were only for the first two episodes, which were shown back-to-back? I wonder if they looked at any other viewing figures. I can't see this show gaining in popularity, after it has failed to achieve the hype. |

| I'm guessing the decision was made off of all the viewing figures that are in, not just the first two episodes. However, I'd say that the article has the proper marketing "spin" put to it, and those numbers were too good not to share on their own. |

According to Outpost Gallifrey, the AA (audience appreciation) figures are pretty high (in the 80s mostly), so the show appears to be doing well with its general viewership. This counts for more than the reaction of die hard Doctor Who fans like us.

I'm with Heath on this one.
Cheers,

P.S. - Though perhaps I will have a different attitude by the time the first series completes itself. |

Well, I have really enjoyed the series from episode 5 thru 9 so far. The first few episodes weren't horrible, but they just didn't live up to the hype, or is it overhyping, that the series received. If the series continues the upward trend, then we could have a long run. I'm just not convinced that the main cast has gelled, yet. If that happens, we could have a winner.

I am now officially reserving judgement too.
Having said that - the way I feel right now - I'd rather TW than nothing in between series. I can't think what I am going to do with my time until Easter.
Sarah Jane Adventures better be half way decent. |

I started watching the series as at least something to do with the Whoiverse while I wait for season three. But I must admit that I'm hooked and excited to here that they are getting another season! |

I'm actually looking forward to seeing the rest of the series and also am excited that they have commissioned another series. I know the series hasn't been perfect, but everyone who isn't a major fan of Who loves the show (at least people from the UK who I have talked to). I think that is mainly because these people can't see the major holes in it.
In anycase, I think we hyped up the show so much that it could never have met our expectations, a bit like series 2 of Doctor Who. I think we really should take Torchwood for what it is and not expect too much of it. If you do, I don't think it is a bad programme at all. |
