The website TvshowsonDVD.com is reporting that the episodes Web Planet and Inferno will be coming to Region 1 DVD on September 5th. Looks like the extras will be the same that Region 2 has as usual. Now all we have to wait for is the season 2 box set next year.
Cheers,
Russel 10 comments

Role Playing in the Doctor Who
Universe.
The Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith, Dr
Harry Sullivan and Nigel the scaffolder knee-wrencher rushed down the
corridor. Behind them, the hideous Bug Eye Monster crackled in pain
and began to lumber after them.
Unfortunately after turning the
door, the fleeing group find a large foreboding door appearing in
front of them.
“Doctor, can you open it?”
asked Harry. “Why
cant you?” threw back an irritated Doctor. “I
am a doctor, not a locksmith” was Harry’s reply, earning
him a filthy look from the Timelord. “Hurry
Doctor!” cried an alarmed Sarah Jane, “The monster is
getting closer!”
What happens next? Does the Bug Eyed
Monster kill all the people, or will the Doctor, Sarah Jane or Nigel
think of something (after all, Harry will not!).
Bad news, that decision is up to you
and your friends!

This is a quick and dirty review of the free Doctor Who Roleplaying game Timelord.
The best (and quite snazzy) website for the game is: http://www.torsononline.com/hobbies/timelord/main.htm
For those who dont know, Timelord is written by Ian Marsh and Peter Darvill-Evens
and was origionally published in 1991 by Virgin Publishing. It has been released by the authors who regained the rights in 1996.
Never saw this game before, but found it on the net while searchig for Doctor Who RPG games. If you think this is a rebadged game from FASA (based on the Star Trek system), think again (it supprised me, and I am an old school gamer who never even HEARD of this game until I googled for Doctor Who RPG games)
This game is designed for people who are new to Role Playing, and contains a wealth of information on all the TV series Doctors up to the eigth, as well as ther companions and many of the Doctor's enemies
This is a simple and elegent RPG system, with a 2 dice system with its own quirk. All RPG games need randomness to add that uncertanty into the narrative between players, and Timelord uses a modified 2 six sided dice system )or 2d6 in gamer speak).

You can download BBC commentaries for each episode of the new series of Doctor Who (inclusing The Christmas Invasion) in the form of a podcast.
This method is probably more convienient than using the links on the official BBC website.
Unfortunately, the BBC website has not posted a link for people to subscribe to the podcast, so I suggest using iTunes and searching for Doctor Who in the Padcast area, and I'm sure you'll soon find it...
It's well worth a listen to hear the producers of the programme (and even David Tennant) discussing how they made the individual episodes.
Hope you find this peice of news useful.
Peace Out. 8 comments
