Although it is not yet active at the time of publishing this article, the new Doctor Who section on the Sci-Fi Channel web site will be located at this URL address:
http://www.scifi.com/doctorwho/
We know this is the case because if you go the home page of the Sci-Fi Channel, then click on "Shows" and then click on "All Shows" you will then see a listing of all their shows, if you scroll down in the 'series' window, you will see "Dr. Who (2005)" (what, it was too much for them to spell out "Doctor"?), if you click on it, it will bring you to the future home of the Doctor Who section of the Sci-Fi Channel's web site. At this time, it will only result in a '404 Error' (web page not found). But we imagine this is the URL to watch for future Doctor Who developments on the Sci-Fi Channel. It is premiering in about six weeks and to our knowledge there has yet to be any promotion at all for it on the channel at this time, and very little on the site... but this will hopefully change soon. 12 comments

Tom Baker was voted the 4th most recognizable voice in the UK after the Queen, Tony Blair, and Margaret Thatcher in a recent poll. Now Tom Baker will be even more recognizable serving as the voice for mobile text messages sent to home phones from British Telecom (BT).
He was chosen because his voice is so recognizable. Baker's voice is also heard as the narrator in the popular series, Little Britain.
Baker, now 72 years old recorded 11,593 phrases spanning 11 days covering every single sound in the English language.
Tom Baker reports, "It's a big responsibility to be Britain's voice of text. What appeals to me most is the thought that I will be bringing good news to people whether it is a cheeky message, a birthday greeting, or just a quick hello. Whatever it is, hopefully my voice will bring a smile to people's faces."

OK, before you get too excited, there are not Doctor Who episodes being offered, but the BBC is now distributing Doctor Who related videos that can be viewed on your Apple iPod (5th generation and beyond), as well mobile phones, Creative Zen, and other media players.
Don't have a portable media player? Have no fear, you can still view the videos on your computer, simply use media players such as Quicktime or iTunes to play the MPEG videos (as well as various other players), or the Windows Media Player to play the Windows Media files.
Currently available are short interviews with David Tennant, Camille Coduri, and Noel Clarke speaking in reference to The Christmas Invasion, as well as the Doctor Who 2006 Series Trailer which was seen at the end of The Christmas Invasion
You can download them here: BBC - Doctor Who - Video Take-away
Note: For some reason when downing the MPEG (M4V) files (for iTunes and the iPod), a .txt extension was added after the .m4v extention. Simply delete the .txt extension and it should work fine in iTunes and your iPod.

Yes, now you too can have your own full size Dalek! Being touted as the ultimate Dalek toy, this new Dalek, an officially licensed replica standing 5'5" tall won't be ready until April, but it has not stopped fans from flooding the This Planet Earth company with £500 deposits for the Daleks that are selling for £2,000 ($3,532). An option for it to scream "exterminate" and have working lights will cost you an extra £500.
"Parts have been painstakingly sourced and meticulous work has been done to produce a stunning replica," a spokesperson for the company stated.
Ian Clarke, Managing Director commented, "I think the model is the ultimate toy, although it's actually a big ornament."
"It's desirable because it’s such a big thing. It's really impressive."
"We have received countless deposits. People just want to say they own a Dalek."

We are sad to report that Gary Downie, former Production Manager for Doctor Who has lost his long fight with cancer this morning. Partner of the late long time Doctor Who producer, John Nathan-Turner, Gary Downie had also published the Doctor Who Cookbook, he served as production manager on Doctor Who and Star Cops and worked as assistant floor manager on All Creatures Great and Small. He appeared often at Doctor Who conventions as well as providing supplemental extras for The Two Doctors DVD.
Outpost Gallifrey broke the news from from a friend of Gary Downie who had reported it to the Doctor Who Restoration Team. 3 comments

News coming out of Outpost Gallifrey reports that the production of the new Doctor Who spin-off series, Torchwood starring John Barrowman reprising his Captain Jack Harkness character has been delayed. The new series originally scheduled to debut in the summer of 2006, now probably will not start production until that time, which means it will be several months later before it is transmitted on BBC3. The production was to originally begin this month, but after numerous delays it is now looking to be June or July. Furthermore, James Hawes, a producer for the new series had to bow out due to the schedule change.
Special thanks to Taras for originally posting this news to our Forums.

icWales is reporting that the BBC Wales producers have been scouting out the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff again for possible location shooting for Doctor Who.
icWales reports of an onlooker commenting, "There were members of the production team taking pictures and having a look around. They were hoping to film at the stadium when there was a game on, they decided it was too much hassle and now they're just looking at using it. They wanted the Doctor to be running up and down stairs and filming in the BBC commentary box."
"They were wandering around the building, and even went into the away changing rooms to take pictures."
The stadium's tunnels had been used in the past for shooting Doctor Who sequences the article reports, but this time the are looking for more recognizable parts.
The BBC will not comment on any of the details except to say that the crew were there out looking for locations to use a spokesperson indicated.

The UK's Pink Paper has published the results of the Pink Paper Reader's Awards 2006 in their current issue (#891). Winning the spot for "The World's Sexiest Man" is David Tennant who had beat out other contenders David Beckham, Michael Owen, and Brad Pitt for the position. David Tennant is reported as commenting, "I’m surprised to be thought of like that." David Tennant took over the lead role in Doctor Who in 2005 and fended off a Christmas Invasion last month in his first full length outing as the Doctor.

Patrons of a local UK pub in Cardiff may have been slightly alarmed when they spotted Cybermen on the streets outside of The Gatekeeper pub. It was not necessarily a Cybermen invasion, but rather a BBC Wales invasion... as they closed off parts of Womanby Street for shooting footage of Cybermen around the The Gatekeeper and The Horse and Groom pubs.
David Tennant and Billie Piper may have also been spotted as they were on hand for the shooting as well.
For the complete story with photographs, see icWales - Dr Who's Cybermen take over street.
