According to news posted on Outpost Gallifrey the region 1 (North America) DVD release of the 2005 series has been delayed for undisclosed reasons. No new release date has been established at this time.
We do not know if this is perhaps relating to the glitches found in the region 2 release which needed to be addressed or not.
See our Forums for further discussion on the news. Thanks to hdutch007 for originally posting the information.
UPDATE: The new release date is set for July 4th for the DVD release so it will not overlap with the series being shown on the Sci-Fi Channel 4 comments

The results of the 2005 TV Moments are here. Winning the top coveted spot of Golden Moment of 2005 was none other than Doctor Who!
Presented by Jonathan Ross on BBC One on New Year's Eve, the 2005 TV Moments also awarded Doctor Who the May/June Top Moment for the moment when "The Doctor, Rose, and Jack hear a deadly voice." A great moment I think we can all agree upon on TV indeed. This was in addition to winning the overall Golden Moment of 2005 that went to the entire series of 2005.
Well done! 1 comments

Actor John Barrowman (Captain Jack) will be tying the knot in a civil union with his partner of ten years, Scott Gill, an architect. They are planning a "low-key" affair with no ceremony, he has told The Sun reportedly. The two are hoping to have a child through a surrogate mother, the daughter of a very old friend.
John Barrowman joined Doctor Who playing the character Captain Jack Harkness in the 2005 series and is now slated to head up his own spin-off series Torchwood on BBC 3 in the summer of 2006.
We wish John and Scott well in their union and starting their new family together.

For those wishing to send in feedback to Doctor Who: Podshock, we have set up a new email address that we hope will be easier to remember (and spell)... You can now send your feedback (recorded audio messages and/or regular text email feedbacks) to:
Of course, you can still use Skype or Gizmo to send us your audio comments (both are free of charge to use) via your computer. And as always, there's the Podshock Public Call Box phone number 206-888-4-WHO (206-888-4946) if you simply want to use your phone to call in a message (this is a mainland USA telephone number in the 206 area code, there are no charges except the cost of the call to that area code (hint: use your extra free minutes on your mobile phone if you have any)).

Outpost Gallifrey is reporting that the TV Shows on DVD web site has the new packaging artwork for the North American DVD box set of the 2005 series of Doctor Who starring Christopher Eccleston.
Click here for a preview of the North American DVD 2005 Series ("The Complete First Series" as they are labeling it).
As previously reported here the new region 1, NTSC format DVD box set is scheduled for release in the US and Canada on the 14th of February 2006.
Judging from this image of the packaging artwork, it appears less box-like than the region 2, PAL format box set which was released in the UK last month. Though the outside size is inconsequential since we all know it is "bigger on the inside." 5 comments

According to Digital Spy, guest-star Roger Lloyd-Pack (who we previously reported will be in the 2006 series playing a villainous character named John Lumic), has broke his leg. This has resulted in the Doctor Who producers having "to make hasty changes to the scripts" to fit the broken leg into the story.
Roger had been concerned after breaking his leg that he would not be able to take his part in Doctor Who.
According to a source of The Sun, the powers-that-be at the BBC were keen for Roger to stay onboard as a guest star, and they have offered to put his character in a wheelchair to accommodate Roger.
"His character is a real baddie and the wheelchair is a great prop, which adds a bit of mystery and intrigue to the part. So it has worked out well."

The BBC premiered a new promo for The Christmas Invasion... and unlike the two teasers which have been made available on the BBC web site, this new trailer shows a good deal of footage from this Christmas special Doctor Who story. The BBC debuted it on BBC One on Sunday, 11th of December.
The TARDIS has a very rough landing... Once again, outstanding work from the SPFX team...
You won't be disappointed with this promo. The magic is back!

A piece of television history will be auctioned at Christie's auction house on the 14th of December. A TARDIS minature measuring 17 inches which was first used in Doctor Who in 1965 is expected to pull in £6,000 ($10,532). Constructed by the BBC visual effects department, this model was last used on screen within an episode in 1970 with Jon Pertwee's debut story Spearhead from Space.
The TARDIS prop was used once again in the world renowned Tom Baker opening title sequence.
According to Christie's this particular model was built by Ron Oates.
The holidays are here, and this would make a perfect gift for that special Doctor Who fan in your life... perhaps one that posts news articles to the Gallifreyan Embassy site... and does a little weekly podcast... You know what I am saying? Hint, hint.. ;o)
In addition to the TARDIS, other items being auctioned include a Stormtrooper helmet(s) from Star Wars and a Hogwarts school gown from Harry Potter.
