45 years and still as good as ever. Doctor Who is not a television programme, it’s a hobby, a job, an obsession, whatever you want to call it. It has taken over people’s lives, their childhoods, relationships, marriages and children. Who would have thought that in 1963, a science-fiction educational program, aired on the BBC was going to turn into the huge fandom monster it has created? These fans could be anyone, mainly nutters but there’s always someone who can appreciate the production values of ‘Sliver Nemesis’. Or is it just me?
Each decade of the programme has had a special anniversary episode(s). Thankfully there is no Dimensions In Time this year, instead Big Finish are celebrating with the release of their special audio, made up of 4 one-part stories, the mind blowingly named - Forty Five!
This audio sees Sylvester McCoy taking on four separate stories, along with companion's Ace and Hex. Each of the four stories, in this audio, are linked by Forty Five or its numerical version. It becomes apparent, whilst listen to this, that it’s another example of quality planning by Big Finish and thier writers.

"I'm sorry, the number you are trying to reach has changed (again), the new number is 206-600-6517, please make a note of it.
Yes, once again the number for the Podshock Public Call Box has changed once again (see what happens when you don't pay your bills). No, it has nothing to do with paying bills, but due to the limitations placed by the provider of the number we sometimes risk loosing it and having to cycle through to a new number. But fear not (were you really afraid), now you can once again leave us voice mail feedback... that is audio feedback for Doctor Who: Podshock by calling 1-206-600-6517.
Please be aware that this is a US phone number (Washington state), so any long distances tolls, if any will apply.
We want to hear from you. Any messages left on this voice mail Podshock Public Call Box may be selected to be included in future episodes of Doctor Who: Podshock.

By special arrangement between the Gallifreyan Embassy and Mike's Comics who is giving our Doctor Who: Podshock and Hitchhiker's Guide to British Sci-Fi listeners a chance to win a copy of Blake's 7: The Audio Adventures Season One Set. It is a CD set by B7 Media with an exclusive slipcase. It's a 3 release set with the third coming with an extra DVD including interviews and extras. Ten other listeners will win Blake's 7: The Early Years, a prequel to the Blake's 7 series.
All you need to do is listen to the Ben Aaronovitch interview included in the podcast (see Introducing the Hitchhiker's Guide to British Sci-Fi Podcast) and then answer three questions based on what Ben Aaronovitch said in our interview with him in that episode. The questions are simply:
1) What term did Ben use to describe the audio soundscape created by effects and music?
2 ) How many prequels have been made so far?
3) What non-science fiction 1970's television show did Ben mention? (A TV series that began and ended its run in the 1970's)
Submit your entry with your answers to the above questions to the special email address mentioned in the podcast. Please include your email address, phone number, and mailing address. Out of all the correct entries received one will be randomly selected for the 1st season set, and ten others win The Early Years CD. This contest is being offered by Mike's Comics. Void where prohibited by law.
But wait, there's more...
